Wow! This is soo cute.  I've seen some vintage patterns about but never been brave enough to give them a go - you've inspired me!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My First Sewing Project on: August 09, 2008 07:31:17 AM
Hi
My mum gave me her sewing machine a few years ago but up until now its been sitting collecting dust.  I really wanted to start making my own clothes so started with this dress which I wore for a race meeting with a gig afterward (The Feeling) and was chuffed to bits with the finished item and had a wonderful time.

I used Burda pattern 2493 B, it was quite a difficult pattern and I picked a shiny material to work with, which in hindsight might not a been the best choices for my first project!   ::)However, I completed it in about four days with a little help from my mum and also made a fascinator, which took my a couple of hours.  My sister has just commisioned me to make her a dress (she's still choosing a pattern) and my dad called last night to say he had bought me a dummy from a shop which was closing down - so I'm well on my way to setting myself up to make more items - looking forward to it. Grin
