1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / whoever said polka dots weren't rad... on: January 17, 2007 07:38:35 PM
...was greatly mistaken.
so, it's been a rather long while i've posted anything here, and i'm proud to say i finally got off my butt and MADE something.

this purse was a product of some random ideas and a LOT of fabric left from a dress project long dead.
now, pictures!

here's the front of the bag, please excuse the crappy pics as i just got my new camera and i'm not all that great with it yet.

you can't really tell, but it's got a little flap pocket on the front, with the actual pocket sandwiched inside the bag. im not sure that made any sense...
anyhow, here's the inside of the bag with a bunch of my crap in it meant to show scale but failing that, it's about 9"x12"x2.5"(it has a gusset and the bottom is rounded at the corners)

it's a bit too big for me (as you can see with all my stuff just thrown in it) and with figuring out that tricky pocket on the front, i completely spaced out and didn't put any other pockets in!
i'm pretty proud of it, and thinking of selling it/ more like it. If anyone could tell about how much you'd pay for it, and maybe any changes i should make (besides putting in more pockets ovbiously Tongue) that'd be great too!
thanks for looking!

3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: 15 and Wanting to Start a Business on: January 15, 2007 08:55:48 PM
i forgot about this, but i've been doing some original purses and things lately, and making random accessories, and i think this would be a great idea since my mom is hesitant about me putting my bank account on paypal.
just wondering, would this be more a network of young crafters, or an etsy- like thing, one central site with different people selling on it? and either way, how would this work out exactly, like everyone making their own sites?
i'm not really sure about this, but i wonder if someone could contact etsy/ paypal and see if they would be interested/ willing to do something like this?
i don't know for sure, just throwing around some ideas, but i'm definitely interested if we're able to come up with a workable plan.
