So I started a Christmas present for my little sister a little later than wise since I am the Queen of Procrastination without a doubt. It goes a little something like this: I bought a delightful pattern from etsy from Delicious Crochet( whose creations are beyond amazingly adorable) And have gotten through the majority of the Heather the Pony pattern without any major speedbumps until...DUN DUN DUUUNNNN. This section I cannot figure out, which may I add is most imperative for a pony.....The Mane!!!! I am completely baffled, bewildered, and worst of all LOST! And on a time crunch too! I e-mailed DeliciousCrochet for guidance, more detailed instrusctions, a tute, ANYTHING to get me through but haven't heard back yet and am panicking that I won't finish in time!!! And then I remembered I have access to numerous genius minds that may be able to rescue me! I am in a rush to post as it is beyond bed time but I BEG!!!! If anyone is familiar with the pattern or a genius at deciphering and guiding someone through a challenge I would be so grateful I would kiss your feet!!!! And the deed would def put you on top of Santa's Nice list without a doubt!!! If anyone is up to the challenge please get back to me!!!!! I would love you forever!
I haven't been crafting much lately and had been away from this site for far too long. As of recently though I have had more free time to resume my love of crochet and been stumbling across some great patterns. I saw this one http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns. and knew I had to make one (or a bunch haha) These bunnies are SO addictive! I have made a purple one for my girlfriends neice and then on to a pink one for her god daughter and am currently working on my own( It was a must, as I totally wanted to keep the pink one lol). The eyes are felt as well as the mouths/teeth. I also did a lame attempt to embrodier the girls' names on the bunnies' butts. Yes, They are both named hailey just different spellings. The nose is yarn and I added a little muzzle area for the nose. The purple one has hearts on his paws as well just for some spiffiness to try and make up for some wonky eyes (he was the first attempt) My personal bunny is a taupe/mocha color I fell in love with! I can't wait to make more and more and more creatures haha I am obsessed now!
So I found the pattern for FREE here:http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33311 And fell in love as I love all things bambi including his friends :-). I crocheted this one up for my neice as a xmas present and once my mom saw it decided she wants a few to give to her friends daughters as presents as well so I am currently working on a hot pink one, a lilac one and a green one. Woot! He's pretty big about 10-12 inches not including his ears. I used bernat softee chunkee yarn which kills my fingers but I love the way it works up. The only changes I will make for future bunnies is to be more patient when I am sewing the parts together ( the worst part in my opinion... I hate it.) Oh and I also sewed the eyes and mouth on rather than hot glue as it will be for a young girl (under 7). With the yarn I used it took A little over 1 skein of the main color and less than half of the tan and the cream. This pattern is lovely and not difficult at all! It took me like 3 days not even! Sorry about my crummy pics my camera hates me.
So while wandering around the site someone in a swap recieved luck stars! And they looked so cute! And I had NO idea what they were lol. So after a google search ( finding out they are origami (spl?) and if you make 900 it's good luck I have decided To make 1800! LOL good luck for me and good luck to give away! I didn't see a star along listed yet so if anyone would like to join me I would love to see someone else slaving away over these too! I watched some videos on youtube about how to make them and they are alot more simple than I thought! After about 5 NONstars I finally have a tiny horde of stars. I have been using thin scrapbook paper I am not overly fond of and they work GREAT! Cardstock...not so much! Here is my little pile so far!http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a37/Saucylildingbat2/lateaugust013.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a37/Saucylildingbat2/lateaugust015.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a37/Saucylildingbat2/lateaugust016.jpg
Ok. So I am new here and constantly admiring everyones AMAZING work. I am addicted to crafting and always starting and playing with some project or other. Well to get closer to my point I am starting my crafting for christmas presents and am almost done with this FABULOUS scarf ( I will be making one for myself lol) and have found the CUTEST blanket I want to wrangle up for my boyfriends nephew due in december! The problem is I don't know whether I'm a little Rusty or whether the instructions are not entirely clear ( there are no diagrams or such) but I definetly need some help b/c I have tried to stard it 5 times already tonight and then undone it all and tried tried again. GRRRR. Sorry to ramble but I will finish the blanket if it's the death of me! Is there maybe a more experienced crocheter that is into playing with a baby blanket and maybe explaining it's process better to me as they go along? PLEASE?!?!?! I would love you FOREVER! This is the blanket I am aiming for HERE:http://www.innerchildcrochet.com/patterns/starry_starry_night.html and the actual directions for the basic version are HERE:http://www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/littlestarafghan.html
