1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Patched-Up Jeans on: December 25, 2008 05:02:14 PM
My first posted project Smiley

It's tricky to find jeans that fit my dd properly, so when she came home from school with hole in this pair I wanted to poke someone in the eye. I just spent a ton of money on Christmas but the girl is running out of pants, so I tapped into my inner Caroline Ingalls and worked with what I had.

Simply drew a heart shape in MS Word that was a little larger than the hole and used it as a template to cut a heart out of another pair of old jeans. I sewed a couple buttons on and then zig-zagged the patch to the jeans. The only tricky part was actually sewing them because the legs of these jeans are skinny, but I put plenty of pins in to keep it in place. She's really tickled by them.

(you know, now that I'm looking at them, I think a row of buttons near the bottom hem of the right leg would even this look out. I might go do that.)
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Looking for bag HOLDER on: August 14, 2008 07:16:35 AM
Hello, first time poster (tee hee, feel like I'm calling a radio station... 'first time caller'. anyway...). I'm looking for a pattern or some kind of direction on making a holder for grocery bags. You know, the kind that you hang up and stuff your plastic grocery bags into? I have a general idea on how I'd do it, but if someone else has done it and has some input I'd like to see/hear about it.

TIA!
