1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: This doll! I like it! Anoth-uh!! The Cute & Mighty Thor Doll on: May 25, 2013 11:31:50 AM
Aw, thank you so much everybody! His hair is definitely my favorite too.

Amincale, I have a Hulk doll for my friends daughter, and another girl has been begging me to make a Loki, which I think would be fun. And I am sure the more I make, the more I will want to do others. Wink

Thanks again, everybody!

Hello Craftster friends! Once again, it has been so long since I have been able to post! I have so much going on these days and find myself with so many projects it's hard to keep up with posting them all, especially with so many places to post things like my blog, Facebook, instagram, etc. It's hard to keep up! Undecided

So, I decided that since I can't post everything I make on here like I used to, I will at least try to make it a point to post my absolute favorite things. Cheesy

I recently became an even bigger geek than I already am, and fell in love with the entire Marvel Universe. I was never introduced to comics as a kid, but after finally seeing the Avengers months after it was released to buy I fell in love with everything about it. Luckily, my husband had quite a few comics to get me started, and his best friend has a bajillion and they helped me get properly acquainted with the comic book world. I love many characters, but between the fantastic and magical world of Asgard and the beautiful hair and eyes of Chris Hemsworth, I have kind of fallen head over heels in love with Thor. I love everything about the stories, the mythology behind the characters and world, the Thor movie and Chris Hemsworth as Thor in general. He brought such a special charm to playing him and I am quite smitten with the whole character.

So that said, after selling almost all my stuff to clear out things and with an approaching birthday of my own coming upon me, I decided it would be okay to take a break from making orders and make something for myself. I have had this doll in my mind for MONTHS, but finally sitting down and making him was so fun!

Doth Mother know, you weareth her drapes?

12 hours of cutting, unraveling, tying and brushing yarn which I then turned into his wig. Ugh. Never again. Shocked
Totally worth it though!
I figured if I was going to make a Thor doll, I better make his hair awesome.
But like I said- never again! Grin

And now I spend more time styling his hair every morning than I do on my own hair.  Undecided

Shakespeare in the park.

I made him a hammer too. I mean "hamm-uh!!"

You want me to put the hamm-uh down?!

This doll is so cute. And tiny!

Okay, I'll stop with the pictures now. Sorry for so many...I just really like him! There are more pics on my Facebook page which I think is linked at the bottom of my profile if you want to see more, but I am sure this was plenty. lol. Anywho, thank you for stopping by! I hope you like my Thor doll. Smiley

Aw, thank you so much! This just made my night! Tim Burton is the very man who has inspired me to do all this along with Walt Disney, so I am glad that shines through. I fell in love with your Doctor doll today and was so impressed by him! I am just as excited to see what you come up with next. Cheesy

He's AMAZING!  I'm inspired.  Do you mind sharing what kind of fabric you used for his head/face?  I want to make dolls for my two daughters for Christmas.  I've made a few dolls, but I've never been totally happy with the fabric for the... errr... flesh... I guess is the word.

Thanks Crafty.Canadian! I just use canvas material. Smiley

I need to get around to actually making my elf XD
My cousin's son, who is five, is loving the idea of bat cookies: he adores Batman.

I want to make some more elves but we'll see if I have time! I found some gingerbread cookie cutter and stampers at target that leave skeleton prints on the cookies. Smiley
