lol wow...how did i not think of chopping off the bottom??! i like the idea for the arm warmers as well...although i'm not allowed a scarf thanks to someone i work with almost strangling strangling themselves when it got caught in a door!
thanks juniper + ph33lth2lov3! *slaps self* it's a wonder i manage to clothe myself full stop really.
i wish i knew how to crochet/knit but unfortunately i find it really difficult to learn stuff like that without having someone there to teach me  Sad

anyway - thanks again for the ideas!

*hugs and sparkles*

i agree with boleyn & annamal - i'm vegan too and there's nothing worse than having people trying to force their beliefs on you...i think it tends to make people more close- minded.
anyway great job on the jacket - it looks so professional!  i wish i had those kind of skills  Smiley
624  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: UGGS! on: October 21, 2004 12:47:28 AM
well i don't know about america - but over in england it's all about those mukluk thingies...especially with the kate moss crowd.  they're basically the ugg boots with a big strip of fur around the bottom and my friend had a go at supergluing some round her uggs the other day (she did a little embroidery around the top too) and it seemed to work really well.
it's so much easier not being trendy  Smiley

damn i've been looking everywhere for that sort of thing too!

i have one teeny fabric shop in my town and the fabric/general craft supplies are crappy to say the least.  plus the staff in there begrudge helping me out...they seem to think of me as the princess of darkness because i carry a skateboard around *shakes fist at screen*

things i'm on the lookout for:
that oh so popular checkerboard print
polka dot
more interesting patterned fabrics - why can i never find fabric with skulls, frankenstein or other spooktacular prints??
animal print
that cool softer/more fluffy tulle
interesting zippers

well the list goes on...and on. i 'spose that's what i get for living in the middle of bloody nowhere.

*hey crafty ones*  Smiley
i'm yet another newbie, love the site...hence the fact that i finally registered. oh, and i ramble. a lot.
so anywho
i work in this little shop with no air con or heating and a la mode it's cold...but not cold enough for me to wear a hoody and not get all hot while i'm working.  sooooo i was thinking a shrug would be the best thing to keep me snuggly.

this is the kind of thing i want to make:

basically i'd like something that comes above the bust (and is the same length at the back), with long sleeves and a hood.

*sorry for the inexusably poor quality of drawing but i'm pretty crappy when it comes to paint*

so does anyone know of a *free* tutorial, pattern, or whatever for something like this??

*hugs and sparkles*
