Bought a pair of high heels and found out did not match my outfit that they are required for. So I'm questing to paint them. I obviously DONT WANT CRACKS or CHIPS so a pre coat of something or after coat or something to prevent this from happening? I'm doing my shoes hopefully right now so urgent?

EDIT! My daughter has a semi-formal dinner-dance. So we ventured to salvation army and find two amazing dresses for her, to her surprise! One of the dresses is a very stretchy cottony material and has a slit up the side. My question is how would I go about sewing the slit up? Just sew it together?
