1  COOKING / Dessert / Different patterned cupcakes. on: September 27, 2008 09:47:42 PM
Here's my second attempt at icing cupcakes! I did the same thing I did last time, except I tried to make my cupcakes purple (they turned out brown though), and I colored the frosting. Unfortunately, I bought another can of frosting before my last chrysanthemum cupcakes post. I didn't want to waste all that frosting, so I used it up on these.

2  COOKING / Dessert / Chrysanthemum cupcakes! My first attempt at decorating. :D on: September 23, 2008 10:34:21 PM
My old roommate came over today to have me help him with baking cupcakes for his current roommate. We just got a box of yellow cake mix and added about 25 drops of blue food coloring to make them teal. He took about a dozen and I was left the other dozen to decorate! I had a jar of white frosting, so I made my own squeeze tube out of a freezer bag and started making these teal cupcakes into chrysanthemums! It was my first time, so please excuse my non skills. Haha.

Any tips? Suggestions?

The colors are so awesome! How did you keep the colored batter from mixing together?

That is so awesome! The icing is so amazingly bright. How did you avoid the yellow from mixing with the blue?

The fondant looks so smooth. The flowers are a really nice touch. It's so pretty!
