Cherry Bomb: Thank you so much! I love the bridge too, we planned just to build the house, but it ain't the Moomin House without the bridge Smiley We actually made it out of left over pieces. For a non-planned bridge we where really happy with it.

Melladh:
That's great! So funny that you could recognize the house Smiley
We found it first at Tradera for a crazy prize, and then it turned up on Ellos.se

They also have a Gingerbread House Kit, but we went freestyle. Smiley

So me and my little sister of 12 years wanted to to the family gingerbread house this Christmas.

Since we both love Moomin, was the choice easy. We also got a calender that each day gave us a Moomin character. Each day we put up the new Moomin character around the house. So the environment changed from day to day. If you want to know more about the Moomin family go to:http://www.moomin.com/eng/index.html

You can almost eat everything that we used to build the house with. Things not recommended to eat is:
The Characters
Cocktail sticks

Overview

Moominpappa, Moominmamma and Fillyjonk talking by the entrance

Moomins ladder, made out of candy rope and the footsteps are made of cocktail sticks

Snowball fight. The snowballs are "Peps" a swedish candy.

Chocolate path

Fir-trees and The Groke. The trees are made of ice cream cones, and a Swedish kind of frosting.

The roof is made of Almond pieces.

The bridge with Moomin, Snufkin and tjhe Policeman. Snufkin's fishing rod is made out of candy rope and a cocktail stick.
The water is made of cough sweets, that was the one thing we could find that had a great blue color.

Hope you liked it!

We had a lot of fun building it!
