First project post, hope it comes out okay.
I made this jacket for a wine bottle. It is part of a gift bag that I am making for a friend who just lost her job. The jacket is made from craft foam and ribbon. The cardboard template for the jacket measures 6" across the top and is 9" long, but you can adapt the size to fit a specific bottle. I used a hole punch for the ribbon at the "neckline," and carefully used an exacto knife to cut the slits to fit the specific ribbon that I was using.
I included a purchased bar of "emergency chocolate" with the red wine, along with a note of encouragement.
I think the life-vest wine jacket would also be a good gift for someone who invites you on their boat for the day (to be consumed *later*, lol!), or maybe a fisherwoman, etc. If I knew anyone with enough money to buy a new lake house, I suppose this would be a cute house-warming gift, but I don't see that happening! I have also used it before to thank someone, along with a note saying "Thanks! You're a Life-saver!"
