3  Washington / Washington: West / Help Wanted- Need Seamstresses to help with workload! (Seattle) on: January 14, 2009 02:46:07 PM
Hi!

I moved to Seattle this past fall to pursue my graduate degree at UW and I also run my small indie clothing line full time as well.

http://www.luckykat.net

I usually cut and sew everything to order here in my home studio but the orders have been building up as well as a few larger wholesale orders recently.  In order to keep up I would like to hire on some contract seamstresses to help with the workload.  Back in Ohio, I was working with a few and it worked out really well.

You would receive the fabric pieces all cut, as well as the hardware and notions (zippers, piping, etc) and you would just have to construct them.  Of course as detailed instructions as needed depending upon your level of experience. It is mostly simple skirts and dresses.  If you can construct a garment from a store-bought pattern- you can probably do this- but attention to detail and precision is important!

Pay is per piece- and you need to have a sewing machine and serger.  This would be great for anyone who wants to work from home to make some extra money during their off hours (i.e. this is not a full or necessarily part-time job).

Please contact me if you are interested- please send me a applicable resume or explain your experience.

Thanks!

9  Ohio / Ohio: Central / Re: Craftin' Outlaws looking for vendors!! on: July 17, 2006 06:29:04 PM
Last year there were 50 vendors and there will be the same number this year.  You can check them out at the website.  Yes, I think it was successful and I got a pretty good response from last year's vendors.  This year I have double the advertising budget plus I've got some stuff planned to try to really get people to buy.  Applicants this year are mostly from Ohio and some as far away as Texas and Boston, so you certainly wouldn't be the one with the farthest drive.  But... I do agree... gas prices are unnecessarily high!
