41  Re: The Stash Neutral Fat Quarter Supply swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by amalgam on: June 06, 2011 10:19:56 AM
I received from foxymama!

I starting to make quilts for the local chapter of Project Linus here, and they say that they never have enough quilts that boys would like. So I requested boyish fabrics and foxymama delivered. Cheesy I especially like the skateboarding bumblebees.

Now I just need to go through my quilting books and decided on some good patterns to make the tops. I can't wait! Thanks foxymama!

I received from amnesia. Check out this tree on a hill!

She even sewed in some beads and the little bird in the sky is cute.

I have to find the right place for this in my apartment. It's great to have my first hoopla to hang. Cheesy

My quilt came in from mandys_momma! Color me amazed! Shocked And you call yourself a beginner. Smiley

My curtain rod was too thick for the hanging sleeve, so I had to use my binder clips and book rings. It's hanging prominently off center above my TV. Cheesy

Here's some close-ups:

The gears and embellishments are made out of sculpey, paper and Mod Podge. And as an extra bonus, they're detachable!

I'm blown away. Good thing I haven't mailed my quilt off yet. I gotta up the ante. Cheesy

Wow! I got totally spoiled by Radmom. I am amazed! Prepare for picture overload!
Group Shot:

This wood carving is probably my favorite. Can you guess why? Cheesy

The picture kept coming out blurry, but it's one of those picture clip holders. The picture is of Boh and the soot balls.

Lastly, a necklace of Howl and Sophie.

Thanks so much Radmom!

Wow. All these packages look great. Here's what I got from VampAracely. First off, she made this Sailor Mars doll for me using her own original pattern.

And because Sailor Moon loves her comics, she sent me these:

Since I'm teaching myself Japanese, it's great to have some material I can practice with. Plus, now I have an actual Sailor Moon manga. And it has one of my favorite Sailor Scouts, Sailor Pluto! Grin

And a group shot for good measure:

I didn't take a picture of the note that VampAracely sent me, but I just realized that the paper has the inner Senshi, Queen Beryl, and the Negaverse sisters on it. Too cool! Cheesy

After much fighting with my computer (and more fighting to come  Tongue), I can finally post what I got from Mocka_moo:

Please ignore the messy background. Wink The red spray bottle has a mix of purified water and tea tree oil for moisturizing my locks, something I definitely need. The little purple bottle is a mix of shea butter, coconut oil, almond, trea tree oil, and aloe juice for re-twisting and after washing my hair. I think the shea butter solidified during mailing so I might have to melt it a little before I can use. I'll have to make a shirt or something to matching the crocheted flower blossom hair tie she made. Plus, there are the cute little cowrie shells on silver wire that came in the matching drawstring bag. I love it all.

Looks like I'm the first one to post pics. That's never happened before...Anyways, here's the cool stuff I got from Spiffyhink!

First, a group shot:

A cute, simple ring with a crescent moon mini pendant. For some reason, I just couldn't get the picture in focus:

A bracelet with bottle cap charms. From left to right, they are the symbols for Pluto, Saturn, and Mecury. My three favorite characters. Smiley

And finally, the necklace with a bottle cap charm that looks Sailor Moon's transformation locket.

This was a fun swap to do. I'm hoping to participate in the summer Sailor Moon swap, but we'll see. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled on the swap page soon. Wink

50  Re: $4.95 Swap AKA Fill a SMALL Flat Rate Box Gallery of Goodness in The Swap Gallery by amalgam on: December 04, 2009 01:54:48 AM
Okay. After fighting with picture hosting, I can finally show the goodies I got pixieval sent me!

So when I got the box it looked like this:

Ready to burst, I took my X-acto knife and sliced opened the taped up box. Upon opening, I found this message:

I have to admit, when I got the small box, I wasn't sure how it was supposed to fold up either. Tongue But I figured it out.

Look at all the fabric!

There's lots of big pieces, but I'm really excited about the smaller scraps. I want to make either an I SPY quilt or a scrappy quilt using English paper piecing and this pieces would be great.

And if you've seen my signature here, I'm collecting empty thread spools. Pixieval was happy to comply. Smiley

Finally, pixieval answered her own question at the bottom of the box:

I gotta lose my fear of overfilling and taping up USPS boxes. Tongue
