1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / # of strands on: September 10, 2009 08:48:16 AM
So how do you determine how many strands (when using 6 strand floss) to use in a project?

Is it all based on the pattern, detail or just personal preference?

I usually use 3 strands because I don't like to go through floss that fast, but I'm working on a project now that calls for all 6 strands.  I love the look, but it kills me to go through so much floss.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Floral Totebag on: September 10, 2009 06:24:12 AM
Here's my take on the floral fantasy totebag.  I absolutely loved the pattern and bought two.  This is the first one, I hope to start on the second soon.  There are several things I would do differently, but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.  I actually made this as a gift for a friend and tried to matched the hair and eye color to hers.
