I got some new DROPS Cotton Light yarn the other day and made this cute little purse with it.  This is one of the DROPS patterns from Garnstudio (www.garnstudio.com).

Beautiful job!  You would never know it's your first afghan.  I think I recently printed out that pattern.  Nice to see it comes out so great!

Thanks.  I tried them last night and was very unhappy with them.  It was exactly what you both said.....the weave is VERY loose.  Oh well, for only $1.48 at least I have some new dish towels. LOL

I don't have a Sam's Club membership, but I just got a card for a free 2 month membership for BJ's Wholesale.  I will definitely check out what they have there.

I have doing a lot of embroidery on my cards and now I am ready to take the plunge and try some towels! 

I picked up a 6-pack of flour sack towels at Target today and thought I was going to pay $5.99 for them, which I thought was pretty good.  Imagine my surprise when they rang up as $1.48!!! No clearance sticker on them or anything!  I am almost considering going back and getting the other 2 packs that were there, but I just want to be sure that it would be worth it.  Since I have nothing else to compare them to, I want to know if they are of decent quality.  They felt fine to me, but what do I know? LOL

I made some more embroidered cards, but these ones are using pattern designs that I drew myself.  I really didn't have much confidence in my drawing abilities, but when I knew exactly what I wanted to draw, it seemed to flow.  Now, they are no masterpieces, but I am very happy with the finished product.
