1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, and Donnie Darko stencils on: March 13, 2005 11:31:46 PM
My fiance was broken hearted at the news of Hunter S. Thompsons passing, so I made him a shirt to cheer him up. It was on of my first forays into stenciling with freezer paper.

I made the stencil in photoshop.

I also made myself a Donnie Darko shirt. I'm planning on making one that says "Cellar Door", and possibly one that says "Fear. Love."
I fear the latter may be a bit to obsure, though.

You post your pictures here... what do you think, GOSH!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / the back of my guitar on: February 16, 2005 11:41:16 PM
This is Laquieda. She is my baby, so I always want her to look her best  Wink

I got the inspiration from the back of the "She's So Unusual" LP by Cyndi Lauper. For those who don't know, the back cover is the underside image of her white high heels, painted in Starry Night. I've Had the LP since I was 5.
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / A slight variation on duct tape roses (with tutorial) on: February 16, 2005 11:18:07 PM
I was very inspired by all the duct tape rose posts lately, and I thought they were the perfect idea for Valentines Day. The only problem is the glue on duct tape seems to irritate my skin. I went to Tar-zjay (Target) and got a multi pack of colored electrical tape and went nuts. I also noticed that the istructions for the duct tape roses leave you with a very cone shaped result, when real roses have more of a bowl shaped bottem. a simple extra fold is all that was needed to remedy that.

After you make the initial fold, you just overlap the exposed flaps.

I only use 13 "petals" per rose. This is the final result.

I also thought they could use some cute leaves, so....

I folded a piece of green tape over a short length of wire and cut it into a leaf shape and attatched it to the finished rose stem.

These are the finished roses that I gave to my fiance:
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / bracelet, wristband, & cuff swap on: February 07, 2005 10:16:15 PM
I was totally spoiled by angelwing75!

Is that not the cutest handbag? I love it all so much!

A close up of the chrams. My mom is trying to steal the frog bracelet.

It's very hard to pick a favorite, but this may be it.

Thank you again!
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Mix Masta Queen Halloween Jacket on: February 07, 2005 09:54:28 PM
I hope this is the right place tp post this...

Who is Mix Masta Queen Halloween and the Aftalife Ghetto? Only the COOLEST folk punk band on the east coast! Okay, so its me, and this is my jacket:

That's Adipocere, my bands symbol (any mortuary science majors out there?)

Here's the front. A runway model, I am not. Oh, and the shirt is the Kids in the Hall (most people think it looks like a boy band  Tongue)

A close up of the lapel

I got the Jacket at Goodwill and went wild. some parts (like the lapel) were stenciled,
some were spray painted, and some were painted on by hand.

I hope you guys like it. It makes me feel like a rock star  Grin
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Dirty Girl on: February 04, 2005 10:35:41 PM
I have a serious addiction to frivolous bath and body products, especially those in kitschy packaging. However, my budget does not allow me to splurge like I want to. As it stands now, my mother nags that I own enough lotion to moisturize North America. My favorite by far is Dirty Girl. I'm planning on doing my bathroom in a Dirty Girl theme, but it gets very pricey. What's a crafty gal to do?

Make it yourself!

A two dollar Ikea mirror and some acrylic craft paint just saved me $20

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Sifl and Olly on: January 31, 2005 10:05:59 PM
Does anyone remember Sifl and Olly? It was this really funny show on MTV starring wacky sock puppets. You probably know one of the creators, Liam Lynch, who sings the song, "Whatever".

Anyway, I made this painting for a friend of mine:

I hope you all like it.

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More Jewelry from MsBettie on: January 28, 2005 05:20:30 PM
I love this necklace. I made it with the intention to seel it, but I think I may keep it. It reminds me of the ocean:

And this is a playing card bracelet made from shrinky dinks. I'm sorry if its sort of washed out:
