1  Never Knitted, but would like to learn to make this... in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by pinkninja on: November 16, 2010 08:29:48 PM
I have tried to teach myself to knit but didn't know what I was doing, but watching some youtube videos I am getting some confidence built back up. I would like to make a Hat for my Fiance that looks like this:

My Fiance, (very much like Seth Rogen) has a huge head and a mop full of curly hair... and it is hard to find hats for him, so I thought I could make him one.

All I know is that I'd need a set of round knitting needles... but have no clue as what to do to go about making this hat a reality, so I was wondering if anyone had any begginers tips. Or if I should just keep this project for a later date and just start on scarves.... Though I'm pretty strong willed when I set my mind to something, I just don't want to get in over my head. Help!

2  It's Alright Ma (Bob Dylan Stencil Tee) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by pinkninja on: February 27, 2010 10:09:32 PM
Since I love Bob Dylan so much and couldn't wait for the shirt that I ordered online to come in the mail, I made one to help me wait.

There was a small hole in the original tee so I sewed a heart over it ^_^

I used http://www.neitherhipnorfunky.com/?p=106 as a tutorial ^_^

I used an Image of Bob I found on the internet, and put it with text in a photo editing software

4  Walter Kovacs/Rorschach Make- up ((WATCHMEN)) in Costumes: Completed Projects by pinkninja on: March 24, 2009 08:03:21 PM
Don't really know where this would go... It's kinda a costume, but not in full. It's just me in a bunch of makeup trying to looks like Walter Kovacs (a.k.a. Rorschach) from watchmen... I've determined I like dressing up lots more like guys than girls... haha So I really hope this is in the right catergory (since its not for halloween, but just for fun)

Me as Walter Joseph Kovacs from WATCHMEN, Just eye shadow and a little bit of face paint haha

This looks better if you've seen actual pictures of Jackie Earle Haley in HIS rorschach/walter costume Cheesy

Here is a pic of what I ACTUALLY look like for refference Cheesy

6  Hurm... A Rorschach Plushie - (watchmen!!) (Now finished, with hat!!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by pinkninja on: February 20, 2009 01:36:26 PM
Here is a plushie I made for my boyfriend for our two year anniversary. (March 25th, so I have to wait like a long time now to give it too him.... this will be really hard, seeing as how I want him to have it so much).

He loves Watchmen, and his favorite is Rorschach so I made a plushie from a pattern I found on deviantart (body and head only though, the clothes/mask I made w/out a pattern.) I painted his face and freckles and added makeup for blush and other shadows... all his clothes can come off and I still have to make his fedora, but I consider him complete as he is so I thought I'd show ya'll Cheesy

Rorschach (lovingly refered to by me as Ror Ror) is now complete with his newly finished hat. And I am completely done with him now... Now I just have to give him to the boyfriend Cheesy

Rorschach with his Sandwhich board and trench coat (without his mask), complete with his bandage on his head from prison!

Rorschach in his full costume (minus the hat)

Rorshach in his "vest" (kinda looks like pj's though), pants and scarf.

Rorschach in the nudie! Cheesy I love his freckles on his arms Cheesy

I had alot of fun making him, he is sewn completely by hand, no machine involved Cheesy

7  Little Jokey in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by pinkninja on: January 09, 2009 05:29:37 PM
Here is a little doll I made out of scrap fabric I had laying around. I've been wanting to try a doll for so long but never got around to buying peach fabric, so I made something that was all white... He is made from a pattern by the same person who made the patterns for the nekomini dolls Cheesy

The Joker:

(He'll get clothes eventually but I'm too lazy right now)

And here is a little Joker dress I made to fit a Blythe Dollie Cheesy

8  Re: The Clown Prince of Gotham (My Halloween Costume!) Picture Heavy!! in Halloween Costumes by pinkninja on: September 30, 2008 08:51:56 PM
thanks again everyone!

In response to how I made the shirt: I printed out a repeating hexagon pattern (about 3x3 inches for each hexagon) and put the paper on a light box with my shirt over it (the light makes it more see thru so I could trace the pattern) I just used a darker blue marker and traced the image onto the shirt Cheesy

BUY RIGID COLLODION! it works miracles... It is this chemicly based stage makeup that you paint on your face and it looks just like scars...

See??? It's only $5 for a one oz. bottle (which is about enough to do like over 20 applications of the scars)

It just peels off (kinda hurts like getting waxed but hey...)

Then I bought some green hair dye and sprayed randomly lol
one big thing that most people miss is the wrinkle lines in his forehead... once you apply the white makeup take a damp Q-tip and rub off the white where your forehead wrinkles are to make the paint look more weathered... (you can also do this from the corners of the nose to the mouth as well) I also took a paintbrush and wetted down some red oil based clown makeup for the lips... just paint it on instead of with your fingers...

I did splash some water on my face, but i think i needed more... but it does give that "I've been destroying stuff all day and am now really sweaty" look Cheesy

9  The Clown Prince of Gotham (My Halloween Costume!) Picture Heavy!! in Halloween Costumes by pinkninja on: September 29, 2008 07:36:16 PM
So... I finally finished my joker costume for this years Halloween!! I made it out of clothing items from good will, re-sewing them to fit me, dyeing them, and drawing pattern on the shirt (that's why I figured it should go in Reconstructed Clothing)

Me and my brother's photography friend decided to go galavanting around town taking pictures of me in my full Joker get up... we attracted an audience and many strange looks...
Oh btw... I AM actually a girl, for those who can't tell Cheesy

Sleepy Joker!!

The Joker is around EVERY corner!!!

10  Bleach stain on fave shirt, now recon'd into pink sugary goodness!! (NEW TUTE!!) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by pinkninja on: July 30, 2008 01:37:26 PM
Well see... I have this stuffed cocodile I've had since I was 2 or 3 named lyle (yes... I do still sleep with him...lol) *ilovehimsomuch* So I found this shirt like three years ago... wore it like twice and then my mom went to wash it and... horror of all horrors... got a bleach stain on it... Sad so now that I've become confidant in sewing clothes back together I decided to make something of it so I could actually wear it!! YAY!!!

I forgot to mention b4, that I used Mezzi's tute for inspiration -http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=100217.0

Pink Sugary Hoodie: (i used the back of the shirt to make the new front! bleach stain free!!)

I love the back so much!

Pocket detail... sorry it's a lil' blurry... the toothbrush on the sleeve was too cute to not incorperate it... plus I added the striped heart Cheesy

Heres the Before just so you know: (with sad sad bleach stain...)
http://a370.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/72/l_db6e658ed4eb975a9e09922cda4ec0f9.png
I used two other shirts from Goodwill to finish the project Cheesy

Heres the link to see it full sized http://www.craftster.org/forum/imagecache/cache/Thumb_KXAAfa
(oh I forgot... I added a trim to my hoodie... I took leftover fabric from shirt A and sewed it to the hood like I sewed the trim on the pocket, 'cept I measured it out so there was no extra fabric to be folded over Cheesy)

plus as an added bonus... I finally tamed my wild mane of hair... lol Cheesy
I have to say this shirt is by far my favorite that I have made Cheesy
