That's really cool! I like the simplicity of the map design and putting it on black cloth was def a good call!

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Neato Cross-stitch caterpillar felt needle book! on: May 28, 2009 06:08:20 PM
I am forever losing my needles and I have a terrible fear that one day I will step on one! Ouchy!  So...I decided I would make a little felt wallet-type book to hold all my embroidery and cross stitch needles.  I used the caterpillar cross stitch pattern from, Miss Woolly's mini cross-stitch kit (by Eliza Edwards), for the image on the front.

It has a button closure and little berry applique made of felt.

I sewed a little piece of aida cloth to the inside cover to keep the cross stitch needles in:

I also added a small green pocket on the back cover to keep a needle package in....maybe I will put a seam ripper in there too!

I used the cheapo kind of felt that is like 5 pieces for a dollar.  I want to buy some of that yummy wool felt when I get more money....someday!  Undecided

Thanks for looking peeps!
