1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / quilling and paint on: October 16, 2013 09:18:32 AM
I'm not exactly sure where to put this! Mods, if this is in the wrong spot, forgive me please.  Smiley

So, I've finally quilled! I've been following all of the WONDERFUL quillers that are on here and I've been playing around with the idea of trying for months. I've been playing around with this one for a long time. Getting irritated and going back to my safe place (wool and sticks) and then going back to it. I finally finished it two days ago and while it isn't anywhere near the caliber of what some people can do...I DID IT! This is done on an el cheapo 12X12 canvas with acrylic paint for the background.

I learned a lot and have ideas for a different one that will cover the whole canvas.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Bleach pen attempt on: November 05, 2012 01:19:39 PM
I've been wanting to try doing something with a bleach pen for a long time but couldn't get around to it until this weekend. This is a really fun processes! I know a lot of people use freezer paper (which I didn't have) or free hand (which I don't have the skill for), but I just used regular paper for my stencil and used a box cutter to cut the pattern out. It worked pretty well in my opinion and I can't wait to make more.

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / First needlework project on: November 03, 2012 03:21:59 PM
So, this is nothing snazzy like all of the other stuff on here, but I'm still very proud of myself. This is the first time that I've done needlework, I'm usually a strict knitter but wanted to do something different for the other half for his big 30. I wrote it out with using my own handwriting..I pretty much free formed the whole thing and used plied yarn that I just took apart.

This got made into a small pillow for the bedroom. I knit a square and then sewed the two together and stuffed with filler.

I want to try doing this stuff again, I think it may be pretty addictive like knitting though.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lace knitting on: August 08, 2012 07:09:50 AM
I have really fallen in love with lace. I've had the "I Can't Believe I'm Lace Knitting" book by Kay Meadors for a while know and finally did one of the patterns out of it a few months back that I'm quite proud of and thought I'd share with fellow knitters. Apparently no one has done this pattern and put it on Ravelry...I couldn't find it at all (here's my project link: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/clumsymomma/table-cover). It was an interesting and frustrating lesson when it came to blocking this beast and I will not go into any further detail about that process...

Anywho, pictures!

Thanks for looking. Smiley
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / knitted/crochet squares on: April 12, 2011 05:32:11 PM
Has anyone ever done a swap of squares that are knitted/crocheted to be made into a blanket, afghan, etc? I think it would be an interesting and semi-quick swap.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / B-day knitting on: August 26, 2010 05:54:33 AM
So, my little girl's birthday was this week and I did a ton of knitting. I'll spare you with posting everything and just post my favs:

The dress is way to big, so I'm going to have to figure something out with the straps...Probably just cross them in the back or something. I had to hand sew the bottom part of it because I don't know how to work a sewing machine. Excuss little miss nosy Basset...She's a camera hog also. Thanks for looking!
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Embrace your disease? on: May 27, 2010 01:52:32 PM
So, currently I'm going through medical issues and getting geared up for surgery within the next few months. I know I'm not the only crafter that is dealing with health issues. Maybe we could do a swap that deals with each others disease, issue, etc...? A small swap probably and send a little info about what that disease does and craft something related to it. I wouldn't be able to organize but I think it would be a neat idea if there were people interested and willing to share their stories with others and then maybe a little bit of goodies for each other? I know there has been I have a disease swaps but they looked more like pampering swaps, not what I'm thinking. Sorry, I'm a bit long winded right now...
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First purse attempt on: April 23, 2010 05:49:54 PM
So, I know this is nothing like the other stuff on here but I'm pretty freakin happy with it! I had to hand sew this because I can't figure out the sewing machine that I was given (an OLD Singer). I work at Target and all of the displays for shower curtains, etc. when we reset get thrown away so I get to take them all home and I have a whole box of display curtains, etc. just collecting dust AKA: This is what the purse was made from.

Please forgive the messiness of the pictures.
10  COOKING / Dessert / Need help..bonbons? on: April 07, 2010 05:27:27 PM
Hi everyone. If I am placing this in the wrong spot, please forgive me...My lovely boyfriend has been craving what he is calling "bonbons" but when I do a search for them in shops, recipes, etc...they look nothing like what he is describing! He says that what he had as a kid (10+ years ago) was round like a ball, chocolate on the outside with a powder-like chocolate on the top and the center is a "melt in your mouth goodness" that taste almost peanut butter-ish...Does anyone have any ideas as to what he is talking about??
