21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt Round 7 (s/up Sept 8-18; s/out Oct 16) on: September 30, 2013 07:25:46 AM

kayrun, does green have to mean the color green?  can it mean organic or that stretching it? Grin

I know in past rounds, "green" has been used a lot of different ways. I think I've used it as being recycled before, I know others have interpreted it as organic, earth-friendly, etc. etc...

I have all but two categories figured out and now just working on crafting...I'll figure out those two pesky categories while I work.

A teaser pic:

hmm...? What is this? How is it going to relate to us yarnies? Questions, questions...

Kayrun, I think you did a great job with matching up partners!

I've started on two projects...One is working as planned the other may end up in the trash by the end of the day. NOT working out the way that I want it to!!

It's sooooo back to school over here - and I'm up to my ears in crafting for the Christmas market - someone send me a spare pair of hands please

I agree! I took a semester off before starting my grad work but it feels like I took years off! It was like this whole summer all I did was crafty stuff (and enjoyed the HECK out of it!) and then Aug/Sept came and...Where did all of my time go?? If someone has an additional pair of hands or even a hand, I'll gladly partake in the borrowing of hands as well.

Same here....Peer pressure is hard to say no to!

I haven't done one of these in forever...Let me check my schedule and see if I can add this in with school stuff!

hey, girlfriend!
nice to see you -- haven't bumped into you on the swap boards lately....
hope you can squeeze this one in -- it doesn't have to be huge if you & your
partner agree on a couple of small items or even a medium  Smiley

Yeah, it feels like forever since I've done a swap! I got married, moved out of state and started grad school...Just a little busy!  Roll Eyes This is a fun swap, so I'll probably end up sending in my info at some point this week. Smiley

28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Care package for a fellow Craftster... giving only on: August 29, 2013 07:40:21 AM
I love this idea too! Everyone needs a little pick me up now and then when things are going rough. I've got a lot on my plate as well but since you're thinking of sending smalls, I would love to be a part of this.

I agree with sending a thank you letter/note, etc...just to keep close to the swapping rules. Also love the idea of care package. Also, if the receiver wants to remain anon, have the sender or mod post pictures for them.
29  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: stash bust multiple weights? (knit or crochet) on: August 07, 2013 02:14:37 PM
I've been doing the sock yarn blanket by Shelly Kang. Loads of people have done different things with the squares- making a blanket, pillows, table covers, etc...I've used a few different weights ranging from lace weight to a medium weight but that's about it. It takes a lot of time but I love using my leftovers for something rather than throwing them away, storing them for "just in cases."

No recent pictures of mine- This is from when I just began the blanket.

Absolutely gorgeous! Lace is so time consuming but unbelievably worth it.
