31  First purse attempt in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by clumsy_momma on: April 23, 2010 05:49:54 PM
So, I know this is nothing like the other stuff on here but I'm pretty freakin happy with it! I had to hand sew this because I can't figure out the sewing machine that I was given (an OLD Singer). I work at Target and all of the displays for shower curtains, etc. when we reset get thrown away so I get to take them all home and I have a whole box of display curtains, etc. just collecting dust AKA: This is what the purse was made from.

Please forgive the messiness of the pictures.

32  I'm a happy little knitter with a question in Knitting: Completed Projects by clumsy_momma on: March 28, 2009 10:47:21 AM
So, I've finally been able to figure out how to make socks without having holes near the heel...It took me a while because the first pattern that I had for socks wasn't dumbed down enough for me. But, I'm extremely satisfied with how these turned out and my daughter loves them!

And, then, I decided to make a scarf but I was tired of the standard ones that I've been making so, I made it extra wide and knitted the edges together to make it kind of tube-like. Its made from an alpaca/wool/silk blend, so it was heaven to knit with and to wear!

I've done tons of other projects but these are the two that I absolutely adore and felt that I had to share!

Also, I have a question about patterns...Is there an easy way to figure out how to alter a pattern to fit? I mean, I'm really small and wear an XS in everything which is an absolute pain because all of the sweaters, shirts, etc...will be way to big on me. I don't know how to change/alter the pattern AND make it work with all of the decreases, increases, making it fit everywhere and all of that jazz.

33  I'm obsessed with knitting for my daughter in Knitting: Completed Projects by clumsy_momma on: August 16, 2008 11:34:51 AM
So, this is my first post and I'm still pretty new to knitting. Anyways, with moving and her starting school and her birthday coming up, I've been knitting a ton! Theres definently room for improvement, etc. etc. but I figured I'd share with all of you! I don't like to use patterns so I just think of how to make it myself or look at the basics for a pattern and go from there on my own.
