I haven't loved something this much since the births of my children!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: HAUNTED YARD 2008 CONTEST! on: September 14, 2008 06:11:27 AM
I so want to enter this - but we do our yard up on the 31st and it all comes down that night - we have wayyy too much money tied up in it to leave it unattended  (too many people would just come and help themselves to it)

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Stenciling = loads of fun! on: August 29, 2008 03:32:22 PM
i love that little milk carton it's ace! Is it the one from the Blur video coffee and t.v?

Ya he's the one from the video - every time I see it I laugh - he is so cute!

Being that this is my first freezer paper stencil - I need a bit of advice from someone -

The bottle said that the paint didn't need heat to set it - most of the tut's I see say to set it with an iron - should I or shouldn't I?

After hearing about stenciling quite awhile ago, I finally broke down and bought some supplies.(like I need another crafty interest Grin) Just wish I could find my exacto knife - box cutters are a pain in the butt. This is my first attempt and thought I'd try an easy one first. Made this for my husband and we are both loving it! Only problem is that I think everything in the house is going to end up being stenciled......

Since I tend to ramble - I'll try to make this short and sweet.

Last year we adopted the best dog ever from The Michigan Humane Society - his name was originally Spike but that didn't fit, so we renamed him Milton. Tomorrow is my daughter's 13th birthday. She has a great love for animals and has even been a vegetarian for over a year now.  In her party invites she asked guests to bring a donation for the MHS instead of bringing her gifts - Needless to say, our families were more than generous and I now have a car load of animal supplies that we will be taking to the Center tomorrow. Since Milton played a great role in my daughter's decision to ask for the donations - I figured he should also have something special for tomorrow. Now I don't normally put dog clothes on him - but I don't consider this to be clothes. Just some felt I finished off with bias tape, embroidered his name and MHS Alumnus, added some elastic under his belly and ties in the front. He loves it - I think he feels special wearing it.

I love my girl and I'm very proud of her - Happy Birthday Allisin!

Just a quick off the top of my head ....

I see little pop up finger puppets hiding inside the tubes -

and maybe donate to a children's hospital?
