1  My first embroidery project, and a question.... in Needlework: Completed Projects by rollersgirl on: January 01, 2009 05:39:11 PM
I've been cross stitching a long time but I decided to try embroidery because I got an embroidery book for Christmas, and saw a cute pattern from this site: http://zuill.us/andreablog/category/embroidery/free-patterns/page/2/
I didn't want to do anything too detailed because I wasn't sure how I'd do.
I think I did ok. But....

...I traced the pattern onto the fabric using contact paper for embridery. It showed up good enough and I started it out fine, but I had to kind of wing it towards the end because I wiped all the tracings off while I was stitching! It wasn't hard because the pattern was simple but I'd eventually like to do something more detailed. What is the best way to transfer a printed pattern onto fabric?

It's Mr. Krabs!  Cheesy
This was my first attempt at creating my own pattern. I got it from one of my son's coloring books and copied it onto graph paper. I had to make a few changes to make it stitchable. I wasn't sure about the colors because I didn't bring a picture of him with me when I bought thread, but I think it turned out close enough.
