3  California / California: Central / SF area indie craft friendly retailers on: October 06, 2006 09:16:56 AM
Howdy all!  Team Pickles will be out in SF next weekend (13th-16th) and would love to check out some indie/craft friendly retailers.  We are primarily interested in gift/designer toy shops, but are open to others as well.  We are aware of several already like Double Punch, Super 7, Giant Robot, Wishbone & Rocket World.   We are staying near Union Sq (Post & Mason) and will have a car.  Any suggestions for bars/restaurants/events in that area are welcome also!

Thanks much!

ARTISTS! ASSEMBLE!!!!

Columbus is in terrible shape - there hasn't been a plush drought this bad since 1952. Toy stores are veritable ghost towns. Airport and hospital gift stores have been cleaned out for weeks. The Hallmark is down to its last Garfield. And with the holidays quickly approaching, the situation is DIRE!!! We need your plush!!!

The time is nigh - sew up some felt (or velvet, if you're fancy), stuff it up, and maybe put a face on it (more fanciness). Then truck yourselves down to Ohio, a hotbed of plush activity. The Buckeye state has Plush Fever and you're the cure.

WHAT IS PLUSH?

A) Squishy squashy fabric-y forms of art
B) Handmade warm & fuzzy toys
C) Your new best friend
D) All of the above!
If you answered All of the Above, you are right-on and super-smart!
