1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Green Leopard Print - does it exist? on: October 31, 2009 08:31:13 AM
Hello, I'm asking on here as a last resort.

I've been searching for some leopard print fabric where the background is green but the spots are black (zebra print might also be ok) for months now with no success.

Does anyone know a place where I can get some?

Thanks for your help  Smiley
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A pair of sexy gloves and some mittens, finally! on: October 18, 2009 08:06:26 AM
Now that summer's gone and winter is on the way, I thought I'd better get the gloves out! I love elbow length gloves because there's nothing worse than the cold breeze that somehow always manages to find the gap between your gloves and your sleeves!

The first pair is from a pattern in Naughty Needles by Nikol Lohr, they're actually a lot brighter pink than in the picture but you get the idea.

The second is yet another pair of Bella's Mittens using subliminalrabbit's pattern. I've used some gorgeous baby alpaca and they are sooo fluffy and warm! In fact this pattern helped to keep me sane on a 24hr flight from Sydney so thanks subliminalrabbit!

Hope you like them. Thanks for looking!  Smiley
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What can I take on a plane? on: June 22, 2009 12:36:59 PM
Hi,

I'm finally going to Australia to see my sister! Not exactly looking forward to the 24 hour flight though so I was hoping to take something to occupy the time.

What can I take on the plane that won't get confiscated or me into trouble! I don't fancy jail in Abu Dhabi!  Tongue I've already got a clover yarn cutter but will I be ok with normal needles?

I've posted this in crochet too 'cause I'm not bothered what I do as long as it's something to take my mind off the flying!

TIA
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / What can I take on the airplane without getting arrested? on: June 22, 2009 12:35:27 PM

5  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / North Yorkshire crafty places? on: April 04, 2009 11:32:52 AM
I'm having an Easter break in North Yorkshire and at some point I'm hoping to get into Whitby or Scarborough.

Are there any places I HAVE to go to crafty shop wise?

TIA
6  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Book character costume ideas please! on: February 23, 2009 11:04:55 AM
Hello.

I'm supposed to dress up at work (a primary school) for World Book day next week and don't have a clue what to go as. I'm also going to a 'songs from the musicals' sing along in a month or so -so if there's anything that'll double up for that too it'd be great.

Hope you can give me some good ideas, I'm sick of going as a witch!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Beautiful yarn - but I don't know what to do with it! on: January 24, 2009 01:45:03 PM
I recently bought 100g each of Grace silk/wool mix, Noro cotton/wool blend, and an alpaca/merino/silk mix. They're all beautiful and I had to have them...

But I don't know what to do with them! I've been scouring the web trying to find something funky to make but I can't seem to decide on anything, all the yarns have bright pink, cream and purple bits in.

Any good ideas for me people?
TIA
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Nice and cosy! on: November 01, 2008 10:44:37 AM
Now it's freezing I thought I'd make a cosy scarf! Hope you like it.

Been talking about it with a friend for ages but we've finally found a night when people can come!

So excited...    Grin
