12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: send out date idea and sending early question on: August 01, 2008 01:19:14 PM
it's usual for me when I get a partner to go through the box of projects I have that are finished but don't yet have a home.  Sometime this will let me fill out a box that I feel is to light other times something in the box is what was requested or I feel just fits with the person.

I haven't yet had a case where I haven't crafted For a partner, just cases where I haven't had a "happy" box without the "needs a home" projects.

sometimes it lets me send early, sometimes it's for an angel box, it's more having time than anything.

Part of it is that it would be hard to be fair.

is the poor package due to a partner who doesn't care or one thats just starting out in crafts, works a lot of overtime, is taking to many classes, has children or health issues (or any combination thereof)

the "I don't care after I get MY stuff' is the partner we need to watch for the other is either correctable with teaching, time and mentoring or by the peer pressure of Seeing the difference between their stuff and what others did in the Gallery.

(offers tech stick)

next?

That one I had put my card up on the board at a Hancock fabrics, but before I got that I had literally hundreds of 'needs a zipper fixed/replaced requests.

And that commission I got stiffed on my contracted fee and had to go to court.  The judgment was in my favor but I still never saw the money.

I have something on the order of six seam rippers laying about the house in various bags and boxes.  But I also use them to cut buttonholes and open basted seams... so having and using them is no reflection on sewing skill.  It's a sewing tool, like needles, thimbles and sheers... (shrugs)

and everyone has uppsies...

who-ho.. done to cutting a button hole, waiting for the sealer to dry.

That's like 8 bags of potatoes... oh my the carbs!!  whew Smiley

not so much when you are cooking for 200...

paying a bill (grumbles at TexTag) then finishing out the last goodie...  This last project was one of the first planned and is being a sneaking nuisance, but it'll be good to get it done.  No Brocade shall conquerer...   Grin well today anyhow.
