hmmmm, i think that's exactly what i have. now i have to decide between this, and the "hello lace sunshine top" on the knitting board. 

How many balls of the cotton plus did it take you to make this? I have a few kicking around, and I love this shrug.

It's cute an all, but it's virtually identical to two of Teva's patterns from her book Loop-D-Loop. If you cross the Ballet TShirt with the Steek shirt, you get exactly the same thing. I've knit both patterns. You can see pictures of the various shirts here.

But she made the pattern without seeing the Loop D Loop book. I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty impressive! 

That is beautiful! And those are some fabulous hand sewing the lining into the purse skills you have. I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and say I'd love to see the pattern as well.

I suspect I'm the mutant knitter.   Up until recently I've never bothered with gauge, and everything came out perfectly. Now that I'm actually doing gauge swatches, none of them ever come out the way they're supposed to.

I cast on for the back yesterday with some pink I had that made the gauge, but a couple of rows into it, I decided that I don't like that particular colour for an entire sweater. I'll look for another colour tomorrow I think.

Sooooo the swatching was interesting to say the least. I swatched with the size 6 needle. Too small. I moved up to an 8 and it was still too small. I used bulkier yarn on the 8 and I still wasn't even close. I finally got the guage using Benat Softee Chunkee on a size 10 needle. A size 10 is significantly bigger than a size 6. I don't think I'm that tight of a knitter. I guess I'll go with it, but I'm a little puzzled by the whole thing.

I think I'm going to start this one (after I finish a hat for the boyfriend, a scarf for my mom, and the steek tank from loop-d-loop ) I bought a size 6 circular at lunch today though, so I'll swatch tonight maybe.

I really wanted to knit it in a similar colour to JemJerrica's version, but such a colour is not to be found in this neck of the woods, so I think I'll do it in a neutral beigey. Also I'll probably do it in acryllic because I can't justify spending a lot of money on the yarn with my track record of unfinished projects.

As for size, I'm not planning to make any changes in the width, but I think I'm going to have to make the sleeves and the torso at least 10cms longer.

One more question before I head off to bed, do you have an approximate length of the body? After measuring it seems like the sleeves are going to be a bit short on me, so I'm thinking the body part will definately be short (I have a freakishly long torso)... But I think the waist is bang on anyways.

So sorry about all the questions, but I am just in awe of this sweater! (And I don't think I've ever had the desire to knit a sweater before.)

I have another question! Forgive me if this is obvious, but about the gauge, 16 sts & 22 rows? Is that over 4 inches? I've been checking my stash all night for something to knit this out of.
