13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Earrings....lots of earrings! on: February 21, 2009 04:50:13 PM
Here are the very first earrings I've ever made.  I have a necklace with coin pearls that was missing matching earrings.

Then I got the jewelry making bug and made a bunch more.  The apple and plane themed earrings are a fundraising project "Help the MFA's JET off to the BIG APPLE"  I'm a theatre management grad student and in charge of raising $5,000 to help pay for our grad actor's NYC showcase in May.

I've pretty much taught myself how to make jewelry in the past few months so any comments or constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated!   Smiley

16  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Record Sleeve Boxes - What to make *after* making record bowls on: January 14, 2009 10:24:05 PM
nice, that is a fun cover!  i'm pretty addicted to record bowls and record book ends.  i wrapped all my gifts in record boxes this christmas and pretty sure from now on that will always be my "wrapping" for gifts.  all you have to do is throw on a bow on and you're good to go!  i also just reduced the measurements to make smaller boxes for different gifts.  i skipped the clear tape bit because it took to long and i really didn't find it made much of a difference.

Here are a couple of boxes I ended up not using.

I can't tell... what's on the last one?

Thank you!

they are "magazine beads" - cut strips from magazines rolled them up tight then used white craft glue to hold them together.
