21  Purple Pinafore in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Dra on: January 23, 2010 11:08:12 AM
So I am in the process of going through all that I have made in about the past year. and posting the ones here which I failed to put up after I made them... due to lazyness Tongue

So this purple pinafore is made out of purple jersey. It didn't quite turn out like I wanted it to. Gathering is my least favorite thing to do. and I've gotten a lot better at it since I made this.

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I can't find my camera, so they were taken using my web cam. which proved to be tricky.

C&C always welcome. Thanks for looking Smiley

22  purple infinity scarf in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Dra on: January 22, 2010 06:04:32 AM
Okay so I'm not sure if this is where this belongs. If i'm posting in the wrong place let me know.

I've been soo busy lately starting University that I have completely forgotten to post all the things that I have made in the past few months. So here is the first thing I am going to post. Its an affinity scarf made out of purple jersey. I was just really bored one day and had a ton of this fabric.

I tried to get a picture of it full and long... but it didn't work too well with my web cam

Comments always welcome Smiley

25  My Super Fantabulous Prom Dress :] in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Dra on: August 05, 2009 11:56:36 AM
I decided early on that I wanted to make my Prom Dress. That thought brought me lots of grief, and quite a few tears the day of my Prom. But overall it turned out great, and fit like a glove. It was my first time putting in a zipper and working with boning. Both were a lot easier to work with then I thought they would be.

I pattern I used was McCalls M5001

I am really happy with how it turned out

28  Wonder Woman... out to save the world... now with pictures :) in Halloween Costumes by Dra on: November 11, 2008 12:59:31 PM
So I was fairly sure that I wanted to be wonder woman for halloween, only I couldn't find the right fabric to make shorts and it kept getting pushed. So like 4 days before halloween, I found a pattern for the top. the next day when I went to Fabricland to get fabric I found the perfect fabric for the shorts everything was falling into place. Everything went pretty smooth. The spandex shorts were awesome! (I am wearing them right now Tongue)

I think it turned out pretty good.

29  polka dot pencil case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Dra on: September 02, 2008 01:27:40 PM
This is pretty much the first successful bag type thing that I have made. and I am so far happy with it.
I have tons of left over fabris too so I'm thinking that I might make a cell phone cosy (I have a habit of dropping my cell phone there are many dents in it now) as well as an Ipod cosy.

I am planning on adding a button or something of that sort to the longer corner

tell me what you think

30  Re: Fortune Cookie recipe? in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Dra on: August 07, 2008 09:39:29 AM
Okay so now I have completely changed my stand on fortune cookies.
I have some tricks.

Don't wait until they are brown (that makes the edges WAY too crunchy and therefore too hard to fold)

3 inches in diameter is too big. make smaller and they turn out better.

Don't flip them over they look prettier and don't split as easily because the bottom is harder.

wait until they are slightly brown around the edges and then take them out one by one, leaving the rest in the oven, this guarantees that they won't get too cold to fold. Smiley

many failed attempts

The five that turned out right

My fav. The little one  Cheesy

The little one doesn't have a fortune in it cause it was too small. But the other successful ones do Smiley
