1  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by ___mikehunt on: August 21, 2008 09:50:37 PM
Thank you for the pattern, Ghilie! I've got most of the body done on my poppet, but I'm waiting to grab some eyes to finish the face lol. Here's my progress so far:

I'm hoping to start on her hair this evening <3

2  Overweight elephant & his cactus pincushion buddy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ___mikehunt on: August 21, 2008 09:14:29 PM
First off, the elephant:

He's a birthday present for my husband's one-year-old cousin. Made out of microfleece, which I will never use again. But he is soft & cuddly.

I need to add something to the tail, which wasn't supposed to be like that AT ALL, haha.

And now on to, my sweet cactus-ey creation!

Yes, I did make him a face out of pins. Very sad, I know. But I figured, what better out of both flora and fauna to turn into a pincushion? Plus, I had the little vase thing sitting around.

Thanks for checking them out!

3  Who has my scissors? AKA: Craft apron in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ___mikehunt on: August 21, 2008 09:05:50 PM

I found this pattern in a craft book, I'll edit later to add the name because it's slipped my mind. I did modify the pattern a bit, though, as the whole thing is supposed to be done with old sweaters. Those are stashed away, and I donated all unwanted stuff this past winter. Also, I wanted a mini-pocket...So:

I pulled together a mishmash of fabrics.

Who (the owl's name) has my scissors, lol. I tried to get him to fray a bit, to add to the "rustic charm". Not pictured is the "Xtreme rustic" jute twine used as the back tie. I go too far sometimes.

I love my little pencil pocket!!! First post, so please let me know what you think.
