1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Diagonal Blanket on: July 26, 2012 08:53:04 PM
This is the next afghan for the eldest of a friends three girls. The granny ripple was for the youngest and the middle daughter is getting a granny swirl.

She chose the colors from my stash and after I used up the first 3 skeins I realized one color was discontinued. DOH!
Thankfully a kind soul sent me one after I posted on another crochet forum.
This is a modification of the Red Heart pattern called Daydreamer Diagonal Blanket #LW2580

Stats: 6888 double crochets, 6888 single crochets, 2296 slip stitches, and 3 colors.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Granny Square Ripple on: July 11, 2012 08:29:04 PM
Saw this pattern on Pinterest last week and had to make it for a friends little girl.
It is 3x5 foot and worked up pretty fast.

The middle is 5 grannys and then you just crochet around them.

Thanks for looking!

Stats: 9576 double crochets, 3756 single crochets, and 28 colors.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / My Dilemma on: March 27, 2012 12:25:50 PM
We had a home assessor coming in today and I had to try and close my yarn stuffed closets door...no easy task even with my weight pressing against it! Then as he entered the bedroom a wave of terror struck me that he might open the door and die from a yarnvalanche. Thankfully he just said hi to my cat, scribbled on his paper, and walked out. My new problem is how do I open the door with out the same fate befalling me? Grin
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Handsome Classic Afghan (I didn't name it!) =) on: October 30, 2011 08:43:44 PM
This is from the book Mile-a-Minute Afghans in the colors selected by Twoseagreeneyes on Ravelry. I saw it used my favorite Red Heart multi Peruvian Print and had to make the exact same one.

Thanks for looking!
5  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / The Mummy on: October 10, 2011 07:41:52 AM
He was made by covering a person (my future nephew in law got bonus points for doing this!) in trash bags and then wrapping them in layers of packing tape. After wrapping the body to the knees we carefully tilted him over on to a pair of ottomans to finish the rest and cut him out. Stuff the form with styrofoam, fill in with Great Stuff where needed, and seal opening with more tape. I used a cosmetology mannequin  and did the same process for his head. Next step was covering with the bandages made from muslin. I still want to age him some more maybe use a spray bottle and some tea, I am not sure yet.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Florentine Bargello Afghan on: September 25, 2011 10:31:54 AM
I have been making fun hats for my cousins family for their birthdays and when I asked her daughter at the beginning of the month what she would like she replied with an afghan. Guess she doesn't like my hats. Seventeen year olds are picky! Tongue I had a little over two and a half weeks to finish and I finished early, WOOT!!!

She loves bright colors so I hope this meets her approval.
Thanks for looking and happy hooking!

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Old color codes for Red Heart on: September 11, 2011 08:47:19 AM
Does anyone have a link for old colors Red Heart used to make? I have some yarn with color recommendations on the label, but none of them are current colors and it peaked my curiosity to see some of the older colors. The color I have is called Copper Kettle (942) and it is quite beautiful.

Thanks for your help!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Kitty Bed on: July 20, 2011 11:35:28 AM
I decided it was time to make something special for my little buddy and I had just purchased the size S hook so I made him a comfy little basket style bed.

Before I even tied the walls up he was in it for the afternoon nap.

Thanks for looking! =)
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Anyone else working on the Catherdral Rose Window? on: June 22, 2011 08:09:19 AM
I started one this week and I don't know if it's me or if it's the pattern, but I keep having to correct every row to make the counts come out right. I have looked at all the pattern correction sites and the places where they say the pattern is off I have no trouble with. Tongue
My only guess is because the pattern I have is the new color, latest release not the original book. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I didn't follow the color suggestions from the new pattern, they just didn't seem to have the "sun through a window" look to me. Here is what I have so far if anyone is interested.
