1  Diagonal Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by BennuBird on: July 26, 2012 08:53:04 PM
This is the next afghan for the eldest of a friends three girls. The granny ripple was for the youngest and the middle daughter is getting a granny swirl.

She chose the colors from my stash and after I used up the first 3 skeins I realized one color was discontinued. DOH!
Thankfully a kind soul sent me one after I posted on another crochet forum.
This is a modification of the Red Heart pattern called Daydreamer Diagonal Blanket #LW2580

Stats: 6888 double crochets, 6888 single crochets, 2296 slip stitches, and 3 colors.

2  Granny Square Ripple in Crochet: Completed Projects by BennuBird on: July 11, 2012 08:29:04 PM
Saw this pattern on Pinterest last week and had to make it for a friends little girl.
It is 3x5 foot and worked up pretty fast.

The middle is 5 grannys and then you just crochet around them.

Thanks for looking!

Stats: 9576 double crochets, 3756 single crochets, and 28 colors.

3  Re: JUNE: Yoyo-along in Crochetalongs by BennuBird on: June 05, 2012 06:53:02 AM
I have this one buried in my yarn closet somewhere that was supposed to be one yoyo of every yarn I purchased after I learned to crochet. It is really in need of some updating so this could give me the motivation to catch up!

Still have quite a few flowers to add to the grannys, but this is what I have so far.

5  Handsome Classic Afghan (I didn't name it!) =) in Crochet: Completed Projects by BennuBird on: October 30, 2011 08:43:44 PM
This is from the book Mile-a-Minute Afghans in the colors selected by Twoseagreeneyes on Ravelry. I saw it used my favorite Red Heart multi Peruvian Print and had to make the exact same one.

6  The Mummy in Halloween Decor and Parties by BennuBird on: October 10, 2011 07:41:52 AM
He was made by covering a person (my future nephew in law got bonus points for doing this!) in trash bags and then wrapping them in layers of packing tape. After wrapping the body to the knees we carefully tilted him over on to a pair of ottomans to finish the rest and cut him out. Stuff the form with styrofoam, fill in with Great Stuff where needed, and seal opening with more tape. I used a cosmetology mannequin  and did the same process for his head. Next step was covering with the bandages made from muslin. I still want to age him some more maybe use a spray bottle and some tea, I am not sure yet.

Thanks for looking!

Great slippers Rogneta! they look very comfy.

Granny from August completed last night. WOOT!

This is the one DH picked the colors for and at first I was not a fan but now it's growing on me.

Hope everyone has a great October!

That1girl, I see that becoming a family heirloom!

I finished my afghan with time to spare so I am back to sewing my grannys together and yesterday I started some floral blocks for my sisters garden themed throw.

I should really be working on my Halloween granny though...

9  Florentine Bargello Afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by BennuBird on: September 25, 2011 10:31:54 AM
I have been making fun hats for my cousins family for their birthdays and when I asked her daughter at the beginning of the month what she would like she replied with an afghan. Guess she doesn't like my hats. Seventeen year olds are picky! Tongue I had a little over two and a half weeks to finish and I finished early, WOOT!!!

She loves bright colors so I hope this meets her approval.
Thanks for looking and happy hooking!

10  Re: goofy mistake commiseration...I'd love some! in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by BennuBird on: September 21, 2011 06:52:42 AM
My first big blunder...even my cat is shamed by my mistake. I skipped a row of black two rows ago.  Cry

Hope this helps! =)
