11  "I can guarantee you the closest shave you'll ever know." - MEGA PICS in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Saint_Angel on: July 16, 2011 07:32:43 PM
Hi all!
I'll keep the talking short, and save room for the plethora of pics.  Smiley
For the One Tiny Stuffie Swap round 6, I was round-robinned to send to Lanikins.  I made her a mini Sweeney Todd plushie (about 4 1/2 inches tall, including the hair) and I sent her my first ATC!

The two of them together.

The Johnny Depp version of Sweeney Todd for those who may be unfamiliar (my SISTER is one, shame on her).

His shmexy sideburns.

His sweet hair streak.

A closeup of his scarf thingy.  I didn't have anything black and white striped, so I used a black magic marker on fleece.  I like how it faded/blended well.

Close up of his knife.  I made if from some shrink film I got from a rummage sale.  I normally use actual Shrinky Dinks, but this was super cheap so I snagged it up.  And I love it!  I think it's better than Shrinky Dinks.

And the knife from the movie for comparison.

And then the very first ATC I made.  And, like the dork that I am, I forgot his shmexy sideburns when I drew the pic.

Thanks for looking!  I hope y'all enjoyed them!

12  Cthulhu Plushie in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Saint_Angel on: May 25, 2011 02:05:16 PM
Hello all!
I had a custom request today that I just had to share with you.
A Cthulhu!  (I wish I could say this out loud, but I have no clue how to pronounce it!)  Cheesy

This first pic shows it's true color.  A dark green.

He's made from fleece, and is stuffed with fiberfill and dried corn.  He has pipe cleaners in his tentacle thingys.  And I used slightly bigger eyes than normal with this one, since the pic I was given had large eyes.

Thanks for looking!  Hope y'all like him!

13  Kentucky Derby Hat/My new "OMG I love it and I'm going to wear it everyday" hat in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Saint_Angel on: May 09, 2011 11:27:57 AM
Hi all!
So the Kentucky Derby was this weekend and our local bar had a derby party with a hat contest.  I'm definitely not one to turn down an opportunity to craft something and then wear "silly" things with others, so I was sooooo up for it.  I'm also a slacker at times so this was made the morning of the derby in about 3 hours.  And I only burned myself twice!   Cheesy

Here's a pic of me with it on before I left.  I wish I would have gotten more of a higher angle so you could see how the back feathers stood up and out, but oh well.  And the rose in the center is a tad darker in real life, it's not really that bright looking.

So then I took some pics this morning in my messy workspace.  The flash kind of washed everything out and distorted the colors a bit, bit I think you'll get the idea.

All the feathers and flowers are on the side, towards the front.  That was a bit hard for me, being all OCD and everything, but I love how it looked.  It wasn't too symmetrical nor was it too off balance.

The back had the bow from the first layer of tulle and then the ends from the magenta ribbon.  Please don't mind the cord in all the pics.  That goes to the lovely skull light that volunteered to model the hat.

The empty side.

A close up of the layers.  Hat, then beaded fringe then layer one of tulle then ribbon and then layer two of tulle.  All of the ribbon and tulle was stitched on by hand.

Then there's a closer look at the flowers and feathers.  I used a few different types of feathers and two kinds of flowers.  They were stitched and hot glued on.

Here I was trying to show how the back feathers kind went up and out.

Thanks for looking!  I hope you like it!  I totally am in love with it and I want to wear it all the time!

14  Re: One Tiny Stuffie Swap--Round 5 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Saint_Angel on: May 05, 2011 12:28:35 PM
I have received from SpookyPooky and oh boy, am I so excited!

So I've been trying to get some Wizard of Oz characters from these rounds and I have a few already, and Alexz was an awesome swap partner and added a new fellow to the group!

Here he is, the Cowardly (not so much actually) Lion!  (I apologize for the craptastic lighting, it's very bright yet gloomy here today and the lighting just didn't want to cooperate with me.)

Here's a closeup of his awesome courage!

And now he's been reunited with his friends.  He's just so awesome!

Now, as SpookyPooky said before, we had worked out a personal swap on the side, and I have always wanted one of her yetis.  AND NOW I HAVE ONE!!!  Well, I did, until the little one stole him.  I'm not kidding.  I had him in my hands for about 5 seconds when he grabbed him and said, "Oh sweet!  A plushie for me!" and ran off!  He said he LOVES him and he will share with me, but he gets to sleep with him!  LOL!

I went to check on them since they snuck off into the bedroom, and this is what I found!

They were taking pictures of themselves on my iPod and then he said they were going to watch a movie!

Oh, and she also sent along a Fortune Fish!  I haven't seen one of these in like for-EVER!  According to it, I'm passionate and in love!  Oh yes, I'm in love with you Spooky dear, you have been a great swap partner!  I love everything!  I look forward to more swaps with you!  Cheesy

Thank you FinRaziel for hosting yet another fantastic swap!

And I LOVE that dinosaur that looks like a cactus!  Too awesome!

15  My Viking Plushies, in awesome stamp form! in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by Saint_Angel on: April 06, 2011 11:23:21 PM
So I've been dying to try my hand at stamp carving and I finally got the supplies in the mail today!
Here's the final result.

It's my viking plushie!  (I plan on using the stamp for the shop, but I also want to stamp like all over a piece of paper and color each one in different colors!  LOL!)

So here's a crap shot of my work space, I was hunched over my coffee table for a few hours, my back is like wrecked!

Then a pic of the finished stamp.

And just for reference, the pic I used to make the stamp.  It has a teeny bit more detail as I was originally going to make the stamp into a rubber stamp a totally different way, but alas, the kit I had was incomplete and the company who made it apparently must have went out of business since their website and phone number are null and void.

Thanks for looking!  I enjoyed this project and I plan on doing more!

I received from ChrisSews!  Isn't he so fantastic?  I wish I could do such detail with something so tiny!  Thank you very much, I love him!  (And look at how awesome he fits in with Dorothy from Foxy Sam!)

17  Vikings! Ahhhhhhhhhh! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Saint_Angel on: April 01, 2011 09:52:09 AM
Hi all!
I just wanted to show a few pics of my latest favs!  I've been a little bit of a viking kick lately.  These are some that I've made.

Viktor, the original

Viktor and Olga, my submissions that will be featured in the upcoming issue of Stuffed Magazine in July (so stoked, I've never been in something cool like that)

Sven

And Olaf the Elder

And because I've been on such a huge viking kick, I had to have one of those awesome crocheted viking helmets, and since I'm terrible at crochet, one of my super fans hooked (punny, hey?) me up and this was the result.

If you want to see close ups (or more of my plushies), you can check out my flickr.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/saintangel/

Thanks for looking!  Smiley

19  The Gnomles in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Saint_Angel on: February 19, 2011 10:24:01 PM
Soooo, my partner for the One Tiny Gnome Swap had a few Beatles items on her wist, so I thought I'd take the Beatles' Abbey Road album cover and make a bit gnomier.  I have these comp books I got on super sale a few months back and you can print whatever image you'd like and stick it to the cover.  I thought, how perfect!  So here it is, in all it's gnomalicious goodness.

And the actual image I made for the cover.  It's hard to tell, but the very center if the trees is a little shroom.  Smiley

Thanks for looking!
