And finally, pictures - sorry for taking so long Sad

Barbolot got me perfectly - I vaguely remember typing things like Addams Family and Amityville in my questionnaire, and here's what I got:

Squee! But it gets better - it came wih an LED flashlight keyring and an invitation to a ghost hunt to take place outside the house. What was lurking inside, I wonder?

I think they might have a problem with damp in this house Undecided

Ewww... what are they keeping those flies for?

Ever get the feeling you're being watched?

They'll never get those stains out

What happens at 3.15 then?

You'd have thought they'd want a family photo rather than a mugshot...

(Unfortunately you can't see these in their true awesomeness  Sad)

And I love the siding!

Thank you so much! I had it at work yesterday (the leaves are in our office car park) and it properly freaked a colleague out - she was convinced we were forever going to be cursed Grin The others were just wandering around with it going 'Ooooh, look in this window!'

And here it is....

Isn't she gorgeous?! Unfortunately I only had my phone handy to take pics on so you can't see the colours to their best (I'll try and get another one in daylight tomorrow). The range of stitches is gorgeous, and I'm now feeling very anxious, even before sending! Thank you peihan, I love her, you pegged me exactly Grin

4  Spare brain for a new med student in Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects by sazzra on: September 09, 2010 01:28:55 PM
One of the receptionists at my chiropractic clinic has always been lovely and chatty and has just passed her A levels with good enough grades to get into med school in London. Rather than just a boring, bought card, I thought she should have a portable extra brain for when the studying gets too much  Tongue

It's the Urban Threads brain (of course!), surrounded by one of their patch frames, and sewn on glittery white felt. It was my first patch attempt and went a bit wonky, but it doesn't show too much (and she loved it, which is the main thing!)

5  Tiny Haunted House Swap (SIGN UPS CLOSED Send by 10/15/10) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by sazzra on: September 09, 2010 06:39:43 AM

Welcome to the Tiny Haunted House Swap.  Original discussion thread here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=358730.0

Tiny House Swap for Inspiration

Swap name: Tiny Haunted House Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: sazzra
Sign-up date range: 10th 17th September 2010
Date to send item by: 15th October 2010

Limited to a certain number of people? : 20

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No

Age requirement? 16+

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES but N/A  Wink
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month
- Has posted at least 15 times
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps
- Does not have any negative feedback
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old
- If within the US, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap

Due to the tight timeframe, anyone with a significant history of sending late will be refused a place on the swap. Sorry  Undecided

Details of swap:

You will be crafting one Tiny Haunted House for your partner.  This swap will have the same parameters as the OTT or One Tiny Thing swap.  Your house must be smaller than 4 X 4", and can be made in any media with any materials you choose.  The goal is to craft something tiny that you can create with a high level of skill.  Careful work, beautiful details, embellishment and interesting finishes/stitches/clay work, etc. are encouraged.

You will have one partner.  You can only send your partner one Tiny House, so extras are not allowed in this swap.  We want a relatively low-impact swap that won't break the piggy bank on materials or shipping.

Rules of the Swap

Additional requirements:

1.  Keep in regular contact with me (the organizer).  When pm'ing me about the swap always put Tiny Haunted House Swap in the subject so I don't miss your pm.  If you foresee that you will have a problem sending out on time or have another issue please let me know as soon as it comes up.

2.  Keep in regular contact with your partner.

3. YOU MUST PM ME AND YOUR PARTNER WHEN YOU SEND AND WHEN YOU RECEIVE.  If you are sending within your own country, you must have a DC# (delivery confirmation number).  When  you pm to say you have sent, be sure to include your DC number.  If you are sending outside of your country and cannot get a tracking number, you must keep your receipt as proof of shipping and preferably send me a scan/photo of it.

4.  When you receive, you must post pictures in the gallery. If you don't have a digital camera, make sure you let your partner know so that s/he can photograph their work before shipping, and post their own pictures once you've received.  This is a good thing to do anyhow, just in case (God forbid) your package gets lost in the mail or something...

If you want to participate, complete the following questionaire and pm it to me (do not post your response in the thread).

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name

Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?

What craft skills could you use to make your Tiny House (e.g. embroidering, papier mache, regular or polymer clay sculpting, wood carving, knitting, crochet, etc.)
Describe your perfect haunted house.  This can include links to houses you love, favourite colours, favourite materials, etc... or you can leave it open and let your partner stalk and surprise you.
Do you have pets or allergies (or both)?
Is there anything you would really hate to receive (for example animal products)?
Anything else you would like your partner to know (for example Wist)?:

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

6  Re: True Blood Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sazzra on: June 25, 2010 01:24:10 PM
I received yesterday, but couldn't post pictures due to the evil migraine from hell. Anyhoo, here are my goodies, and prepare to wisteroo Grin

Bit of background - I told annachronism that I'm going to a TB con later in the year and there will be themed parties (Arlene's Engagement, Night at Fangtasia and Descendants of the Glorious Dead), so I'd love anything that could go with me. And boy, did she deliver!

Firstly, a book.
And what's so interesting about that, I hear you ask.
Well.....
It's a purse Grin The picture doesn't show the handles well enough, they are gorgeous crytal and smokey quartz beads. I will be ultra careful with it, and will make sure I keep it hidden from certain people *cough*Sylvanna*cough* Wink

Next, a notebook cover, which I plan on using at meetings just to freak people out
There was a packet of the micro buttons in there too which shall be resinised to make a matching pendant Smiley

Thenwe have cracheted cherry earrings and phone/bag charm
Now I can hear the 'huh?'s from here, but for the Arlene's engagement party I'm making a dress from Alexander Henry cherry fabric, so annachronism made these to go with it Grin

Then we have some papery friends to take to the party with me
They all have a full range of outfits, I haven't folded the tabs yet as I may magnet them for use in my craft room Smiley

Annachronism also included some suary extras, some to be eaten and some for resin pendants (I'm trying to resist the pearls, how did you know I had a childhood obsession with crunching these things?)
Yes, those sweets are foamy and gummy elephants with the leading one called Eric. A genius find!

I've saved the best til last though...

PANTS!!
No, you won't be getting an action shot, don't worry! These were the 'joke' part of the package, for my civil war era potential costume, and are gorgeous! The red bows on the back are a lovely touch, and I really want to parade around in them but would not subject the public to that. They will be worn at the party though, I can guarantee that!

Thank you so much annachronism, I loved everything. My Erik (one of my cats) came and watched the entire unpacking and photgraphing process, so that has to be the ultimate approval Cheesy

Okey dokey, pig in a pokey Grin

It's 16:10 here, I'm off to be punctured in multiple places (and electrocuted hopefully) so if there are any last minute panics/problems/dropping parcels in the river on the way to the PO, please PM me and I'll check before I go to bed tonight. Otherwise,as today's the deadline, it'll be

and we wouldn't want an angry Eric turning up now, would we?

Not much

Be prepared Wink

Why yes, that is my package, how kind you are to point it out Grin

Toric did a whole story/set of instructions for all the items, decorated with some great stills

A fantastic rosary style necklace which is really good and long. The cross is a St Cuthbert's cross, toric's 'local' saint who apparently liked ducks (seriously! It's on Wikipedia!)

Excuse my meaty fist, but arm warmers! They're gorgeous and not at all woolly (I'm allergic to wool), just nice and smooth

An ENORMOUS spider web scarf. Seriously, it's over 6 feet long and a good 18" wide. Ducky has very kindly sent instructions for different ways to wear it, as it's big enough to be a shoulder wrap even on me Grin

Extras of tea (always welcome for work) and Haribo (yum)

An Abby make up kit - black nail varnish, black eyeliner and black lipstick (it's so tempting to wear it to work!)

And last but not least, a gorgeous crocheted rose brooch which, as Abby says, is not just for birthdays.

Thank you so much toric, you've spoiled me rotten!

10  True Blood Swap Round 3 (SIGNUPS CLOSED, MAIL BY 05/31/10) FINISHED in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by sazzra on: April 14, 2010 02:02:32 AM
True Blood Swap Round 3

Do you side with the Vamps, Weres or Shifters? Or are you a fully paid up member of the Fellowship of the Sun? If it's the latter, you might want to leave now; otherwise come on in and enjoy the Bon Temps baubles  Grin

This is a relatively small swap (4 points), but that's just enough to cover that Merlotte's tshirt you've been desperate for. Or the latest copy of Lafayette's recipe book complete with bitchy quotes, or even that cuddly Eric you want to erm...show off Wink All groups are welcome, as are those that prefer the books to the TV series.

I promise we won't bite....

Unless you ask nicely Cool

Round 1 - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=294088.0/
Round 2 - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=313850.0

To prevent flakers (or try to at least) I'm making it a requirement that you either post in the thread once a week (even if it's a 'still here!' post) or PM me just so we can see if anyone drops off the planet before send outs. I'd also ask that you don't send unless you've 'seen' your partner online that week - if you're not sure, contact me and I'll check. I know there are a few newbie swappers who are interested in signing up so again, if you're not sure on something, please ask! Some of the swap rules and regs can seem really daunting and a bit limiting initially, but honestly they're not, they're just to make sure everyone comes out happy (and full of Eric love Kiss)
