Hi!  I am Desi and live near the coast of South Carolina.  I just relocated there from outside Atlanta.  I went to school for education, but currently stay at home with my just-turned-three- year-old daughter.  I am going to homeschool her.  I am married to my best friend and high school sweetheart.  This year we are celebrating 13 years of being together, and 7 years of marriage.

I adore Disney and I also love to travel.  My dream destination is going to Alaska to see the Northern Lights.  I also want to road trip down Route 66.  I love to dabble in all kinds of crafts, but sewing is my true passion.  I also enjoy hiking and camping, watching television, baking, letterboxing, photography, writing on my blog, and being with those I love.

I can't stand cigarette smoke, so please nothing from a smoking home.  My husband has an allergy to pets, but as long as your animals aren't all over your crafting items, it should be fine!

Thank you!  They will go in letterboxes, most likely on a long trail near my house or a nearby park Smiley  If you're anywhere near Charleston, SC, you should come find them and stamp the images once they are hidden.

10  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 66 ENTRIES / Hand Carved Bird Stamps on: September 06, 2011 03:21:48 PM

I was thrilled to see an "Inspired By Nature" Challenge on Craftster.  Something I have enjoyed doing for some time is watching the birds who come to feed in my backyard.  They inspired me to carve these stamps in their likeness.

Though many birds visit us daily, I have chosen my favorites to carve and share.

Each stamp was carved on white PZKut Material (this type is no longer made, I just stocked up on it a while back).  I used a laser printer and iron to transfer my image.  An exacto knife and Speedball Carving Nibs were used to carve the designs.  All images were stamped in black pigment ink.  I used some Crayola Colored Pencils to color in each design.

The stamps will now be hidden in letterboxes and placed in nature for fellow letterboxers to find.
