1  Blue Sprites in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by wyntersea on: May 17, 2009 05:24:21 PM
Hello everyone.  I finally finished my sprites after having started them in the fall of last year.  I guess I'm a little late or maybe early. Wink  They are cloth dolls of my own design.  Their faces are painted, they have perle cotton joints and wired individual fingers.  Their headbands are upholstery trim and they have assorted glass beads for necklaces and other trim.
Here are Wynter and Snow for lack of more creative names.  I'm trying to get into the habit of naming all my pieces.

They are ready for their closeup Mr. DeMille. Cheesy

My favorite color is blue and when I saw the main fabric with all the blues, purples, a little gold and white, with all the stars, I knew I had to have it and would be making sprites.
This is Wynter....

This is Snow...

I am trying to get a certain number of dolls done in a month.  Right now the number is 6 per month.  My personal quota because I'm trying to get enough done for a craft show in the fall.  Plus, I want to see more of my work around my apartment.  Right now I love lots of color.

Thanks for checking them out.

2  Tribal Woman in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by wyntersea on: May 14, 2009 08:35:37 AM
I finally finished this doll after having started it many, many moons ago.  She is from a Christine Shively pattern.  She has bracelets on one ankle (that you can barely see) and wrist.  She also has a belly bead.

3  Little Ladies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by wyntersea on: February 08, 2009 09:11:34 PM
I finished these two for an art show & sale benefiting AIDS Care Service.  The Lady in Black won best in the mixed media category.  I was totally surprised.  Both are stump dolls with head and hands made out of polymer clay.  Their faces are painted with acryllic paints. [/img]

4  Schnitzel in Felting: Completed Projects by wyntersea on: February 08, 2009 08:20:27 PM
Here is my 3rd needle felt project.  At least one that's finished. Roll Eyes  His name is Schnitzel and he's a character from the cartoon Chowder.  For some weird reason, I like that cartoon.  Maybe it's because the characters are all named after food.  Schnitzel helps Mung Dal in his cooking shop.  Chowder is Mung Dal's apprentice.  Truffles is MD's wife and Panini has a crush on Chowder.  I thought it would be good practice because Schnitzel's form is all cylindrical.  He was fun to do.

5  Fisrt Needle Felt in Felting: Completed Projects by wyntersea on: August 11, 2008 09:10:23 PM
Okay, I don't know if this is going to work or not.  I'm new to posting and uploading pics.  They probably aren't in order in the making of this project.  Anyhoo, I took an online class from Barby Anderson from her online etsy shop called Morining Glory.

I'm originally a cloth dollmaker but felt that I was in a rut and decided to try something new.  So here it is.  Maybe...

He looked a bit lonely so I made him a friend.  Friend will show up next time.
Thanks for looking.
