I don't have a picture of it, mainly because I was so upset I just chucked in all in the trash. I was trying to make a nice mother's day cake for my momma and I figured angel food would be best with a strawberry and cream filling. I poured the mix into two 8" oval pans. They're the pans from Wilton's course 2, if anyone knows which ones I'm talking about. Well.. 5 minutes into baking, I turned the oven light on...and the cakes were HUGE! Not just a little inflated. They were pouring over about 5 times the size of the pan. At first it was funny, but then I got sad. There isn't one thing I can bake or cook that doesn't get ruined. Why does this happen to me? All the box required was 1 1/3 cups water. Help!
I opted out and decided to make some royal icing roses. I'm pretty good at making them, but I guess since I had never made my own icing, it would pose as yet another issue. First it was like concrete. Then I added a tiny bit too much water and it was just mushy. I gave up, threw it all away, and cried. LOL. I'm a big baby.
In the oven now, I have a standard white cake in the same oval pans. If it doesn't come out good this time, I'm done. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures later.
I had gotten a chocolate melting machine thing for Christmas and still hadn't used it. My mother threatened to get rid of it last night so I figured I'd show her that I really wanted/needed it by using it. Work out very well. She seems pleased. *looks over and laughs as her mom shoves a strawberry into her mouth* =P I'm excited to go to the grocery store tomorrow. Maybe I can do the ultimate! Chocolate covered s'mores. Oh man. I'm so hungry now. =P
