1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / the quantity of ink used in fairly large scale t-shirt screenprinting on: December 28, 2008 06:26:26 PM
hey there craftster, i have a question about the amount of ink used when large amounts of shirts are screen printed. i am thinking of going into the relatively small scale business of printing shirts for local esque bands on the cheap. Most of my screen printing and shirt making endeavors have been, to this point, small scale operations of one or two shirts. therefore, it would be very nice if anyone knew the amount of ink it would take to print any large amount of shirts with different size logos; how much more ink is it for a small chest logo, large chest logo, or all-over shirt design?
Most of the time i would be printing anywhere from 50-500 shirts, so an estimate in the lower end of this bracket would be ideal!
2  CANADA / Atlantic Canada / attn canadians/nova scotians ----bulk t shirts/screen printing supply companies? on: December 28, 2008 06:16:45 PM
hey there craftster, i have some questions about buying supplies in relative bulk. the thing is, i am thinking of going into the relatively small scale business of printing shirts for local esque bands on the cheap. the issues of supply getting i shall address in a numbered list.

1. the number of shirts needed: i would only need about 100-500 shirts at a time. i am aware of several internet ordering websites wherein a person can order large amounts of blank shirts. my problem here is that most of the time one has to have a registered business to order from these websites. is anyone aware of bulk t-shirt companies that will sell to the private citizen with the right quality/price combination?

2. Where could i purchase large quantities of quality screen printing ink on the cheap?

3. please remember i am in fact in nova scotia, canada therefore it is a necessity that internet mail order companies be located in canada or the cost will grow like a grandson who eats his vegetables. it would also be nice if they were in my half of the country to reduce shipping costs.
