1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Tooth Fairy in Space on: May 23, 2010 06:48:05 AM
My 5 year old is a ways away from losing teeth...he was late getting them in the first place. But his soccer mates are starting to lose theirs. One of the moms found out I sew & asked if I could make her daughter a tooth fairy pillow. Turns out they are quite fun Smiley I started with some that were not for her so I could work out any kinks. This space themed one is my fave so far. They are about 9x9 and stuffed with polyfiber fill fluff stuff.

The backside has a planet that doubles as the "pocket" for tooth & cash

I now have a list about 20 long of ideas for themes Tongue And bonus - I can still make them when my sewing machine goes to the doctor next week since most of it is by hand Smiley
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / wallet/checkbook cover thingy on: August 21, 2009 03:29:21 PM
I needed a checkbook holder but also with slots for cards - so after essentially copying the cheap plastic thingy that comes with the checks - I added some pockets & a tab and viola...I think my next ones may be finished off with bias tape around the edges to cut back on bulk though.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Troctopus squidy thing on: August 21, 2009 11:37:00 AM
Ok - didn't know what to call this guy - my oldest said "troctopus" since it's like an octopus but with 3 legs, but the head shape seems more like a squid to me. hmmm..let's just say he's an aquatic alien life form Smiley Either way - I like him...he was fun to make.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 3 Eyed Green Monster Keychain on: August 07, 2009 07:27:10 AM
More monster fun here at home....well, it was here at home. He has now reached his destination at my friend's - happy monster birthdays Smiley

....and I have about 10 more ready to cut  Smiley

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / I don't know what I am, but I like me :) on: August 03, 2009 01:45:25 PM
I have been sketching an army of little monsters & such that I am slowly turning into stuffies & embroidery pieces. This little guy got finished off last night. The only problem? I forgot to copy the pattern so I can make another one - doh! Cry Won't stop me from trying though...

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bridal party coordinates on: June 16, 2009 05:29:25 PM
Just wanted to share...
I just finished these bags for a friend's bridal party...and one for the bride.
Took the pics quickly - had to catch the light while we actually had sun  Tongue (not ironed completely yet either)
The dresses are a deep purple & it's a garden theme...

thanks for looking  Grin
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Serenity Coin on: May 31, 2009 02:58:24 PM
I was so excited to see so many Joss fans after my last posted embroidery work (Grr ARgh)...so I thought I'd throw another one out there to share. This one was hard to part with - but it graced the front of a messenger bag that will be lovingly carried by a fellow Firefly fan  Grin

this is the final piece, bag & panel:

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pink Skully Bear on: May 30, 2009 04:41:13 PM
I have made some felt plushies from my own patterns, but did not really know what I was doing, so I got some books to learn from and this was the result. The basic bear was a Tramp Heart Bear from "softies" by Lisa Martin...and the belly part was from"Plush You!"...also by Lisa Martin - weird thing - I didn't realize they were the same artists until after I started making it Tongue Doi! on my part since the bears were the same style :p

Anyway...here she is - since this pic was taken I redid the neck area b/c I wanted her to wear a skull brooch (still to be made)
Thanks for letting me share  Grin

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Grr Argh dude on: May 30, 2009 08:11:33 AM

I just finished this one this past week...I've been on a Whedonverse kick with embroidery...most of which are going to find themselves on a messenger bag. I never know just what to do with them. I need to try framing sometime.
Anyway - just wanted to share  Grin
thanks
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / scrap fabric ribbon bookmarks on: February 09, 2009 06:24:19 AM
I recently went through all my fabric & organized it into 4 piles: keep, destash, scrap box & toss (those teeny pieces that I just have no clue what to do with).
I started playing around with ideas for the scraps...these were the first 2 things I came up with. The idea still needs lots of tweaking - but they are fun  Grin
