21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Swap Sendout 28 August!! on: August 28, 2009 02:32:07 PM
The Buffy box is on it's way *tears* gonna miss the stuff. Or am I the only one that has a hard time watching my stuff leave? There were a few times there I thought to myself, "self, that would look good here with us...maybe we should make another something or other hmmm???" I of course batted that self and told it to shut up b/c we were trying to make nice lovelies for someone else Smiley

and Pix - no worries, no tears...'cuz then stuff just runs more Smiley Besides, we are always our harshest critics, it may not even be as bad as you may see it.

23  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: wallet/checkbook cover thingy on: August 23, 2009 08:47:00 PM
The fabric is called Nicoise Spice (I believe I spelled it right) by Alexander Henry - it's a quilting cotton (I think) and it is from ReproDepot online....it was only around $7/yd... I got it nearly a year ago. It is one of those fabrics I love so much I never want to cut into. So one day I just grabbed & cut - and survived Smiley

24  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Stuffie/Plushie swap gallery of goodness on: August 23, 2009 08:40:54 PM
Holy Stuffies Batman!!!!

those are awesome!!! The zombie tooth is hilarious...I may go with that theme & make something for my dad - he's a dentist Tongue

And that Boo! wow. just, wow!

My son is gonna crack up when I show him the DS holder - he thinks all cozies/holders should   look like what they are holding Smiley

thanks Smiley
They aren't too tough - there might be a tutorial here...or if you find one for a smaller wallet/credit card holder, just widen it - that's how I did my pockets. They are actually just one long strip of fabric folded like an accordian.

I needed a checkbook holder but also with slots for cards - so after essentially copying the cheap plastic thingy that comes with the checks - I added some pockets & a tab and viola...I think my next ones may be finished off with bias tape around the edges to cut back on bulk though.

definitely worthy of its name Smiley I love how you used carabiners (no clue how to spell that)  to connect the flap straps - very cool touch!

29  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Troctopus squidy thing on: August 21, 2009 11:37:00 AM
Ok - didn't know what to call this guy - my oldest said "troctopus" since it's like an octopus but with 3 legs, but the head shape seems more like a squid to me. hmmm..let's just say he's an aquatic alien life form Smiley Either way - I like him...he was fun to make.

30  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Zombie Hello Kitty on: August 21, 2009 11:09:22 AM
what a fabulous combo! And wonderfully done.
Thanks for the glow-in-the-dark thread tip. I have been thinking about trying some for a (oddly enough) zombie piece for a pillow for my son.
