1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to finish this painting on: August 01, 2011 07:05:55 PM
I really like catango's idea! I would lean towards arranging the background mandalas asymmetrically, in different sizes and colors, and layered - it would symbolize the unpredictability, uniqueness and variety of souls in the universe. (It WOULD be a lot more work though!)

Love the glowing, smooth quality of it so far! Also, Prussian Blue is THE BEST BLUE EVER

I'm so glad you liked everything! Smiley

I'll try to upload pics of the necklace soon.

LOVE the Bacchus/Dionysus goblet! Beautiful. What materials did you use?
Also, that Apollo lamp is absolutely brilliant (pardon the pun). Are you planning to post a tute? I'd love to make some for my apartment.

I am FINALLY getting these up!

My memory card is having problems, so I didn't get closeups of everything - I'm going to ask iliveonarainbow if she can upload her photos so you can see everything better.

Everything together:

So, we have (clockwise from top):
1) Owl print bag - so cute! Athena-inspired of course, and the perfect size for either on-the-go craft supplies or instruments of justice.
2) Feather earrings from the winged sandals of Hermes - these are my favorites!
3) Aries (the ram constellation) keychain (my sign). I am generally not a fan of glitter, but this is an exception.
4) Whoa, Poseidon's Sea Chest! This is really impressive - all of the patterns made by the shells are very intricate. This must have taken her ages! It even came with gifts from the sea inside - more shells.
5) In commemoration of humanity's great benefactor, Prometheus, a bracelet representing his gifts to man - earth and water (from which he made them), fire (which he stole from Olympus and gave to them) and wisdom (stolen from Athena). Prometheus is one of my favorite gods. She even sent extra beads.

Close-ups:

Prometheus bracelet:

Thank you so, so much iliveonarainbow! I am late sending my package Sad, but I hope you like it when it arrives!

Dog from Howl embroidery is all kinds of win!
(Did he have a name, and was it Hein? Or am I just thinking that because he made that sound? Tongue)

Love those wallets too! And No Face is quite the popular guy!
Also, beautiful and spot-on Radish Spirit on that picture frame. He's not usually a subtle guy, but he snuck up on me there Smiley

8  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Greek Mythology Swap! (Signups Closed, Sendouts August 21st) on: August 17, 2010 09:50:01 PM
I'm sending tomorrow, yay! I was going to send today, but was super busy. My kitty cat is really sick and I've been having to feed and water her with a syringe every couple hours. I took her to the vet and they said they couldn't do much to her that wouldn't cost a lot of money. And me being a college student, I have little money. Sad

Oh, and I'm going to go ahead and set up the gallery tonight while I have time, because tomorrow's going to be busy as well.
Hope everyone's crafts are going great! I've so excited to see everyone's stuff!

I'm so sorry about your kitty! Sad I hope everything works out alright.

I've been away for the past few days, but I'm looking forward to getting home and finishing up. And yay, you're sending tomorrow! I can't wait Smiley

I probably won't send out until the 21st, knowing me. I think it'll work out well though - I haven't finished anything yet, but I'm in the middle of my large and two mediums right now. Having fun experimenting Smiley

I got the origami pattern from a website that . . .
. . . is not registering. Huh?
I hope this isn't permanent Sad

You could try searching "origami totoro" in Google though - I think I saw some other sites that had the same pattern.

AmiAmour: I'm so glad you like your swap package!  Grin

Also, thank you guys for the comments on the nesting dolls!
