1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Gift for friend with a broken leg on: September 09, 2006 01:18:11 PM
Oooh been there done that. As in, been the one with the broken leg. Good things are books, magazines, movies, cards, flowers (especially ones that last a long time), sweets, etc. Better things are homemade baked goods, homemade crafts sets for things like learning how to embroider, homemade cards, etc. The BEST things are frequent visits (but always with notice!) and consideration! There's nothing worse than making her feel bad when she asks you to get something for her.

How about a t-shirt printed with something along the lines of "No, I can't get it myself, my leg IS broken!"?

Love this idea!
2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Roller derby onesie! First project!! on: July 12, 2006 03:15:06 PM
Incredible! Personally I would be afraid of the baby's spit up and end up keeping it!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: E6000 ain't for dummies on: June 10, 2006 10:12:18 AM
What is with E6000 packaging? I go through way more tubes than I actually use, just because it glues itself closed or whatever.  Angry

I love those! I love everything cupcakes, especially this! And about the slightly "rough" tops...they look great and besides, who makes perfect homemade cupcakes? At least I don't!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Nothing says summer like fruit salad... on: May 23, 2006 07:43:13 PM
Thanks everyone! I actually got the fabric at the Mill End Store.

...on my skirt!

I made the waistband out of my sister's old sweatpants, but the fruit material is stretchy t-shirt type stuff I got on sale. It has little buttons on the side because my mom and I accidently sewed part of it inside out. Whoops!

Comments?

I love it. Very mod. Do you mind if I try that sometime? I don't want to rip you off!  Smiley
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: As Is OR Modified Aunt Martha Stitchalong on: April 04, 2006 06:24:10 PM
thanks!  the design itself is about the size of a standard piece of paper, the fabric it's on is a little larger.

hmm...then you could frame it, make a wall hanging, sew it into a purse, make it into a pillow (I say this about everything...I have way too many pillows) or something else...sorry that I'm not much of a help.

catpants-The detail on your's is incredible! Your stitches are tiny and the stitch you used on the flowers is so cute! About what to do with it...how big is the piece of fabric that it's on?
