11  COOKING / Dessert / Giant Pink Cupcake! on: December 27, 2008 04:30:33 PM
So my mother and I saw this adorable cupcake pan on amazon.com, as well as Target.com.
It was called the Wilton Giant Cupcake Pan.
It is about 6 or 7 inches in diameter, it's not "HUGE" but it is pretty darn big.
So, others wondered how much to put into the cake. Some used 2 boxes of cake mix, others used one and a half boxes or "4 cups".  So, my mother and I used 2 3/4 cups for the bottom cake, and 1 3/4 cups for the top. And to bake the bottom (since the top cooks a lot faster than the bottom), you would bake the bottom for 10 minutes before adding the batter into the top.
Others did say that the cake came out with a dome top, they were right.
You just had to cut the top of the bottom, and the bottom of the top (did that confuse ya yet? xD) and then it is even.

So, we found this adorable cupcake by Darwinsfrg and loved the idea of the pink frosting.

Our frosting was a marshmallow buttercream.
It was 1 cup unsalted butter.
7.5 oz of marshmallow fluff
1  cup of confectionate sugar
and 1 tsp of vanilla (i am not sure on this last one)

Just add the coloring and whip it all together.

And in the end, it becomes this:

By the way, the red ontop was out version of the "cherry on top" that we don't have. It's just red frosting.

Hope you enjoyed this!
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Huge Ugly College T-shirt Into Cute Tubetop Dress! on: July 11, 2008 07:14:24 PM
Oh yes.
I only have one photo.

Well....it was a huge ugly box-y college t-shirt. Then changed into a fitted tubetop dress (with a tanktop underneath).
All handsewn. Even the white band that has elastic on the inside.
First time making something like this. lol.
