1  Rin from Inu Yasha in Costumes: Completed Projects by alisonwondeland on: April 27, 2012 04:08:40 PM
For AnimeNext '12, I decided to join a group of cosplayers who are cosplaying from the anime Inu Yasha.
So, I wanted to go as Rin since my Sesshomaru was tall and I'm tiny compared to the other cosplayers.
My friend and I sewed the kimono with a sewing machine, by following a pattern.
Then I hand-sewed every orange square on, and drew the green bubbles onto the kimono.
The green obi was already made from another cosplay I made.

I went to Hatsume Fair '12 in Florida this past March as Rin, and won the "Best Novice" Costume Award. Smiley

2  Drabby Long Dress into Cute Short Dress! IMG HEAVY in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by alisonwondeland on: September 12, 2011 01:16:13 PM
So I went to Salvation Army
and I found this long dress that didn't have much of a shape.
And it was pretty long on me.

So I decided to cut it and add a belt that I had laying around.

Sorry for the bad photos.
This is what happens when you live in a dorm room. xD

Hope you enjoyed looking at it! Cheesy

3  First Attempt at Rainbow Cake and Rainbow Cupcakes in Dessert by alisonwondeland on: July 17, 2011 01:47:52 PM
Since our family are "hippies", my mom and I wanted to make rainbow cake or cupcakes for our friends that we are going to hang out with on August 9, so this was our first attempt at making them. So last night, having cabin fever, I decided to make my own version of the Rainbow cake that my mom and I loved looking at on here.
We didn't want to make a terribly big cake because we wouldn't be able to finish it all, so I only got myself 1 cake box mix of Duncan Hines White Cake Mix, and one tub of vanilla icing from America's Choice.

So we started out, mixing the batter together, and then dividing the layers into bowls by wieght (9oz. was perfect for our four small heart pans). We then used food coloring (For the purple we used Betty Crocker Neon Gel Food Colors, and for the red/yellow/blue we used McCormick Assorted Food Colors and Egg Dye). We were able to make the four layers, and our light purple stayed a light purple! We were excited. Then we realized that we had a lot of batter left over in the bowl, so we used green color dye in that, and made 6 rainbow cupcakes in addition.

In the morning, we "dirty iced" the cake, and then put it into the fridge for 2 hours, and then completely covered the cake in the icing. But I feel that it didn't completely cover the cake, because we wanted to make it that nice smooth finish that we see on other cakes on this site.

And so, here are our results! Cheesy

4  Big t-shirt turned into cute tunic! =] in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by alisonwondeland on: February 12, 2011 01:51:53 PM
Yes so.
I went to Salvation Army (again. I love that store.)
And I found this adorable light blue and navy blue top.
But it was big on me, and didn't flatter me well.

And so,
I took off the sleeves, and sewed on ties so I can tie it in the back.
And it became this:

And so, It took me only 20 minutes to reconstruct it. =]

5  Boring thrift store dress into cute modern top! IMGS HEAVY in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by alisonwondeland on: October 01, 2010 10:45:10 PM
Heylo people of Craftster.org/forum!

I am back from a long leave of absence.
Not to worry, I was just lurking.

And finding something to reconstruct.

On Wendesday I went to the salvation army at my college...
And I found this boring dress.

And I realized, if I just hemmed it, that it would look so much more flattering!

Tadah!
Sorry for the pictures. They're a bit big...
=D

6  MANY FELT TOYS/FOOD/POTTER PUPPETS [Pics Heavy] in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by alisonwondeland on: January 07, 2010 11:03:44 PM
This all started after making my Mad Hatter plushie on here...
I started to make plushies with my friend Debbie making these two:

I made Harry. She made Hermione..
This inspired me to make the rest of the Harry Potter Puppet Pals Crew....

Which I gave each of my friends a Puppet.
Except for Harry. He's mine.
Then...
I decided to make Felt Food.
I first made a huge doughnut.

Then came two toast pieces with faces.

Then came sushi and a fortune cookie

Then yesterday and today came
A strawberry doughnut plushie

And finally.
Me and my boy plushies (well he insisted that I should make these)
Soon, I shall give him the "me" of the plushie while I keep the "him" plushie.
=D
On his shirt it says Slipknot (which is his favorite band)
He flipped when he saw the mini-him. He loved it. =D

I made all of these by felt.
The ranging hours for various toys could be from 30 minutes, to 8 hours.
Please comment.
Hope you enjoy them! =D

So I was inspired by a friend of mine who was making her own Astro Boy plushie.
Well, I didn't want to make Astro Boy, but I wanted to make my very own...

drum roll please...

Mad Hatter plush!

I loved Mad Hatter in the Alice in Wonderland disney movie,
as well as on youtube Mad Hatter in Disneyland/Disney World.
He is funny, outgoing, loud, and downright crazy.

This is my first ever plush.
I used tutorials to make him.
All felt.
All by hand.
Done in two days.
Eight hours the first day.
Two-three hours the second day.
And he is done.

8  Pikachu Hoodie Costume! PICS HEAVY in Halloween Costumes by alisonwondeland on: October 30, 2009 04:27:42 PM
Well I didn't want to be Joker for Halloween, and I wanted a light-weight, easy to wear costume. So I decided to make a Pikachu hoodie based on the Pikachu hoodies on google.

So I bought the yellow hoodie at first.
And then the rest was all felt.
Yes!
Felt!
39 cents of goodness.

So, I sewed on the ears, cheeks, and the back.
I am not making the tail, I dun have time for Halloween.
So for $20 and 2-3 hrs later, I am done.

In Progress:

9  Joker Costume! [IMG Heavy] in Halloween Costumes by alisonwondeland on: October 25, 2009 10:11:06 AM
I had no idea what I wanted to be for Halloween, and then I realized with my slight-obsession with the Joker, I could be him and go around and snarl and say "why so serious" to the little trick or treaters coming to my door near Halloween.

The outfit was bought at a local Salvation Army.
The makeup was normal halloween makeup at an art supply store in my town.
Using a tutorial on youtube, thats how I got my makeup on.

Here I am in action:

10  Sleepover Cupcakes for New Years!! in Dessert by alisonwondeland on: December 31, 2008 08:00:47 AM
So...
from that book Hello Cupcake! I decided to make cupcakes for my friends for a sleepover that we're having tonight. It's three girls (including me) and two guys. I made each cupcake look like each person in real life. Mine is the one with the red blanket.
Each blanket is made out of softened AirHeads(c).
The heads are made out of mini Nilla Wafers.
The pillows are regular sized marshmallows cut in half.
The other half is used for the body underneath the blanket.
The "teddy bears" are..what else? teddy grahams.
The red heart smiles are made out of red AirHeads. =D
I'll be presenting them to my friends tonight, and I know they're excited about these cupcakes as I am. =]
