11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Geocaching/Letterboxing Swap (Signups CLOSED; Send Outs 5/14/11) on: May 05, 2011 11:37:24 PM
Just checking in to say I'm still alive and I'm working on the swap.  Smiley
Finals were killer, but I can now settle down and do some real crafting!

Just checking in.  Have brainstormed a bunch of good ideas with one of my friends, and we're going to get started this weekend, after we make a trip to get the necessary materials.

Just saw this swap, and had to join!   I love geocaching, so this ought to be fun!

That is amazing!  It is so adorable, too!  Awesome job!

That shirt is beautiful!  I love it!  I agree with the others who say that that's pretty enough to be worn outside!
16  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Tibby Rollins (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) Costume help! on: September 28, 2008 10:21:28 PM
I've only seen the movie, so I'm going off of that for her appearance, but you could carry around a video camera or get a shirt like her red wallman's shirt.  And of course, she has that blue streak in her hair.

I love Dr. Horrible!  Your costume is great! And I second the needing gloves statement.
18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: 3 old shirts tuned into.... a shirt dress!..used tube dress tute on: September 11, 2008 09:33:39 PM
That shirt-dress looks phenomenal!  I really like the collar, and the checkers at the bottom rather than just another stripe of one fabric.  It looks really really good!
19  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Why so serious? Almost. on: September 08, 2008 11:54:17 PM
My friend got this T-shirt with the Joker and Harley Quinn, and was inspired by the Generation Tee book to try and make it cooler... Unfortunately, she failed miserably, and the shirt ended up pretty mutilated.  So she asked me to try and do something with it.  So two evenings and three red t-shirts later....

This is what I came up with:
My friend modeling her new hoodie....

You can't really tell in the pics, but I lined the hood with a black&white diamond checkered fabric.

The sleeves and sides/hood are slightly different shades of red because I had to use what I could find at a local thrift store for the red fabric.  It's pretty noticeable in this picture, but in real life it's not that bad.
20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dinosaur Hoodie! (*three images*) on: July 28, 2008 05:57:54 PM
So I was at a fabric store when I ran across this adorable dinosaur fabric, so of course, I bought some.  Then I was like, "What on earth should I do with it?"  Then I came across a pattern for a long sleeve shirt from Burdastyle (http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/542) and a tutorial for a T-shirt recon (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=100217.0), and I put them together, and presto.  Dinosaur hoodie.  It is my second attempt ever at a top (the first being a 1700's style jacket for a Halloween Costume), and I think it turned out alright.  It's still a little rough around the edges, but I'll have time to fix it up before it's actually cold enough to wear it.
