1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Preview pics missing on: April 21, 2008 02:14:06 PM
So I noticed the other day that the only pics on the preview bars that are working are the featured projects. If it's just on my end, does anyone know how to get them working again? There are only green boxes and they aren't linked at all.

I love these, I want them back!

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Astrological Chart Necklace pattern/guide? on: February 16, 2008 07:41:56 PM
Has anyone made one of these before or knows how they would be made? I'm very interested in making a necklace (or bracelet) of my astrology natal chart that's accurate mathematically, but I'm not sure how exactly to do it.

Something like these:
http://www.sunmoonandme.com/astrology-necklaces.htm
http://www.wstardesigns.com/Horoscope_Jewelry/index.html
http://www.beadylittleskies.com/how_to_order.html

I can see just flubbing it, I guess, laying the beads out and just winging it. I'll respond if I do try.
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Frozen Shower Gel on: June 02, 2006 11:12:47 PM
So I was inspired by the idea of Lush's cold shower gels and made my own version. I took M&P soap base, boiled some water and set aside soap coloring and essential oils and ice cube trays.

Peppermint Freeze Gel
Supplies:
*Pan or bowl safe for boiling water
*Measuring cups
*Knife or grater for the soap
*Stirring utensil
*Ice cube trays
Ingredients:
*3/4 cup grated M&P soap base (I used one recipe with glycerin and one with hemp oil bases)
*1 cup boiling water
*10 drops peppermint EO
*10 drops grapefruit EO
*8 drops blue soap colorant

1. Chop up or grate your soap base
2. Boil a cup or more of water on stove or in the microwave
3. Put chopped/grated soap into mixing bowl, pour the water over and stir gently until the soap is dissolved
4. Add coloring and fragrance
5. Pour gently into ice cube trays and place trays in freezer, they should be ready for use in an hour
6. Pop them out by hand or pry out with a toothpick or similar implement immediately before showering, place in bowl
7. Use in shower or bathtub by rubbing the frozen gel on all warm areas thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

CAUTION! Those sensitive to Peppermint or any other oils in the blends should probably not use. Do use caution not to use too hot of water to counteract the cooling effect of the peppermint oil.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Corseted Rent T-shirt on: May 23, 2006 01:03:38 PM
I loved my XL Rent T to death, but it was waaay too big for me to wear out and about. I've had it in my recon pile for a few months and FINALLY tore it apart and added black ribbon loops for corset lacing. I wore it for my 20th b-day party and it looked pretty good on me. VERY happy with how it turned out.

I do have pictures on my boyfriend's camera of my shirt laced and on me. I'll post those as soon as I can for reference.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Harry Potter Monster Book of Monsters on: April 05, 2006 09:50:21 PM
I made this little prop out of an old hardcover book on Agoraphobia, fleece, paper and hot glue while waiting for Goblet of Fire to be released. I took some old tealish-green fleece, cut it to size, glued it in place, cut out the eyes, eyebrows and teeth, glued those on and let it dry. It's very cute in person and I like keeping it on my computer desk to frighten people. I'm thinking of glueing the pages together and cutting out a little compartment in the middle to hold something, I don't know what.

But here's the book!

Oh my, I don't think it likes it's picture taken...

It looks all sweet and fluffy (if slightly evil) so you get close and SLAM!  It bites you hard.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Harry Potter stencilled Ts on: April 05, 2006 09:38:02 PM
I've done a few stenciled Ts with Harry Potter stencils that I created myself and have finally taken pictures of them to share.

The front has a small stencil of Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy's face with his name underneath

And the back says "He's not spoiled, he's just a spoiled brat."

I made this shirt before the 6th book came out and I still believe it to this day. I'm proud of how it turned out, a lot better than I thought it would.

I also made a test Weasley's Whizarding Wheezes shirt that turned out horribly, but it was a horribly fitted shirt anyways. I did make a pretty one for the HP swap 2 here in purple. You can see it hanging out of the box.

This will be a swap dedicated to various pagan religious beliefs. There will be the option of sending a holiday kit or a general kit. Both cases may require research into the person's sect/pantheon for inspiration. There must be at least one large/important item that is made by hand, but preferably more. Buying candles and incense is okay, but if you can make them that's better for the energy flow.
The holiday kit should include some sort of ritual items and decorations specific to the holiday the person celebrates (Beltane in the North.)
The general kit will be much of the same, but more generalized to the person's beliefs, for the non-holiday practitioners.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / My bead obsession grows with jewelry ::Image heavy!:: on: January 30, 2006 09:35:10 PM
I made a few things last year around August when I randomly wanted to wear earrings again.

Then in December I needed earrings to match my Christmas/Yule clothes my Gilded Ornament set: All glass beads, 14kt gold wire and clasps.

Then I ran rampant with earrings and some matching necklaces.
Sterling Silver Goddess earrings: Basic charm earrings, thinking of adding chains and some moon stone accents.

Springtime Butterflies earrings: All glass beads, very light in color and weight.

Black Aurora earrings: Black bugles, black E beads

Black Ceramic earrings: Vintage ceramic beads

Blue Rainbow earrings: Blue-lined clear glass beads, solid light blue beads, rainbow glass furnace beads, silver earwires

Blooddrop earrings: Red frosted 4mm beads and AB pink/orange delicas

Attention-grabbing! Blue Pondscum earrings: Glass focus beads, dark blue flower discs, and purple-lined aqua triangle beads.

Blue Pond Drop and Black Glow necklaces: Glass bugle and seed beads, purple-lined aqua triangle beads, vintage black ceramic beads, dark blue pendant beads, tiny dark blue waterdrop bead

Icy Heart necklace and earrings set: Clear glass beads, blue-lined clear glass beads, swirled clear and blue hearts, and light blue twisted beads.

Green Man necklace and earrings: teal-filled clear glass delicas, teal-green leaf beads, sterling silver Green Man charm, sterling ear wires.
