1  old fashioned yarn hangers! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by numbcarnelian on: March 21, 2010 07:54:20 AM
I used to make these with my grandmother when I was young. It's really easy you basically cover two metal hangers with two different colors yarn. -Using simple knots. I can't remember the name of the knot (it's been a while since Girl Scouts!) but I plan on making many more so I might upload a simple pictorial if anyone's interested  Smiley

anyhow I made these dozen for a bridal shower gift!

*they are great for items that you want to hang but don't stay on a normal hanger

3  Placemats for Dad in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by numbcarnelian on: January 30, 2010 09:25:11 AM
My dad wanted some new placemats for his new pad in Rosemount, and he lives right next to a mill so I thought this wheat field fabric would be nice. I could've made these faster by not doing patchwork but I wanted to make them like tiny quilts  Smiley

4  Tartan skirt turned vest in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by numbcarnelian on: January 24, 2010 08:52:14 AM
This project was for my mom-in-law. She had a vintage family Tartan skirt that a mouse found and chewed a hole through. The skirt didn't fit to begin with; so she asked me to transform it into a vest she could wear. This is my first vest ever, and I didn't use a pattern just winged it you know  Wink

I hope you like it! The tartan is for the Scottish Hume bloodline within my husband's family~

*notice the pocket!

5  Alas, my craft room is complete! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by numbcarnelian on: November 22, 2009 09:04:41 AM
I've been dreaming of my own craft room for so long, and buying a house enabled me to execute my vision! I was previously sewing in an unfinished basement; this change was much needed.

I crammed my stamping & sewing stuff in here; the bags of batting and beading bins had to go in the furnace room  Huh I had no idea how much craft stuff I really have! Nonetheless, I couldn't be more happy with my new haven:

and of course, the obligatory self-timer pic  Wink

Can't wait to work some magic in here!

9  my first hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by numbcarnelian on: February 08, 2009 12:53:05 PM
Alas, my first hoodie is complete!

I got this electrifying print while shopping with alli.illektro; and thought it was perfect for a hoodie. I lined it with this teal jersey knit I picked up for 25 cents at a church rummage sale. I always like an over sized hood, and decided not to add a pocket since it's more a of a tight fit hoodie.

Used this pattern from Burda: http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/542
(thanks Alli for reminding me I don't need a ring collar for the hoodie version  Roll Eyes)

10  Andy Warhol Valentines in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by numbcarnelian on: February 04, 2009 04:16:01 PM
I finally used my new Warhol stamp on some Valentine's!

I used the clear resist pad, a roller to apply the (colorerd) ink, and glossy paper. For stamps I used Andy, victorian letters, and a set of random retro chairs & TV sets.

I tried my best to capture their beauty, the glare is impossible to avoid!

LOVE ANDY,

I am pretty pleased with the outcome, and hope you like them too!
