1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / The White Rabbit on: October 25, 2015 02:13:55 PM
I hope you don't think I'm spamming you...I honestly think you will appreciate this one too.
Like I said, I hoarded all the sheets of Halloween in Wonderland-paper my local craft store had.
This is my third craft from the set (and there is still some left)...A white rabbit collage.

I love this so. The composition! The glitter! There's an annoying Finnish rapper, who sounds like a knock-off of
Ja Rule and he keeps repeating this in his songs, but I'm going to quote him anyway: Aah.

Sometimes one just has to acknowledge the good job they did themselves.

Thank you for sharing the papers. I have already printed off a sheet of the white skull paper. I love it. By the way, I love your blog and am now your newest follower Smiley

Oh, you.

Sorry, but I think you can no longer call yourself "not experienced"! I think this looks great!

I forgive you.

Couple of weeks ago I posted my Halloween-sign thing on my local craft FB-group and a lot of people fell in love with the harlequin patterned paper. I decided to get all generous and
designed a similar paper for people to use in their crafts. Then I asked, if people need some other kind of papers and someone requested skulls. The harlequin pattern is straight from my brain but for the skull paper I used a freebie from Graphic's Fairy.

BTW...Did you notice, that Ikea used Graphic Fairy's images in their paper products?

Anyhoo, I thought to share these over here as I think you'd appreciate these papers. If you are interested downloading them, there's a link to my blog in my signature. I've given a licence to use the papers in crafts to sell too. Because I personally hate stingy people Wink

And the skull paper, of which I made two versions. The skulls are slightly different size in them for technical reasons. My printer couldn't handle the smaller skull in the white on black version:

Also, I wasn't sure, if this is the correct board, so feel free to move to the correct place.

Remember the Mad Hatter- lamp I made? Anyhoo, I made this art work to go with it. I'm not an experienced collage maker but I think I captured the mood pretty well this one. I used a cover of an old kids' book as the backing and covered the edges with black washi. Other than that, there's no special techniques used in making this. Just some distressing, matting and fussy cutting. Simple but ah, so effective!

Hope you like it!

That came out unbelievably well, given that you had no pattern whatsoever! Impressive! I love the bow on the waistband ^^

Why use a pattern, when you can wing it and potentially cause yourself a heart attack by ruining the fabric? I'm all about adrenaline rush and excitement.

Not scary but definitively Halloween, more elegant.
A great sign.
Is it difficult to find Halloween stuff in Finland?

VERY! There was one, Hobby Lobby type of store, who was kind of the 'spreader' of Halloween in Finland, but it went bust. Though someone bought their trademark and their coming back. Till then we are stuck with coming up with things ourselves. Hoarding every bit that can at least at some level be called Halloween'esque.

Yet another Halloween project...

I bought this random decor piece for two euros at a local outlet store. This couldn't be more simple to do. Some pretty paper and Halloween themed text from a cut apart scrapbooking sheet. Total cost was about 4 euros.

I shared this also at Finnish FB craft group. One member fell in love with the harlequin paper and since mine is from an old collection and it doesn't seem no other company does one currently, I decided to design one for free to print. There's a link in my signature to my blog and peeps can download it from there if they are interested. It's also free to use in crafts meant to be sold.
10  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / A Mad Hatter Lamp on: October 01, 2015 12:16:43 PM
Last Christmas I found some Halloween in Wonderland papers at my local craft store and hoarded quite a few of them. Then few weeks ago, my landlady gave me an old busted lamp to do something with and I decided to use my new old papers for it.

The process of making it was fairly simple although it did take few hours to make. I used paint, washi tape, tacky glue, Distress Ink, and scrapbook paper for the project and the total cost was around 4,5 euros. Not too bad! Here are some pics:

There are few more pics on my blog: https://thriftyfinn.wordpress.com/2015/10/01/mad-as-a-hatter/, if you are interested.
