1  Re: Paper Crafty Scavenger Hunt in The Swap Gallery by Meow Kapow on: January 03, 2009 07:30:38 PM
Hi Everyone,
I thought I would post the images of the items I sent to my swap partner.  It was my first swap and I had SO MUCH fun.  I'd love any feedback from you guys on what you think of the goodies.  Number 4 was most exciting to do - my first machine stitched note card set using Amy Butler scrapbook paper and kraft paper cards and envelopes.  Thanks in advance for any encouragement!!!

Oh, and here is the list of items!
1) chunky: set of chipboard pieces
2) over 20: sheets of origami paper
3) typography: set of rub on letters
4) botanical: machine stitched Amy Butler paper flower cards (handmade by me)
5) postal: package of vintage airmail stationery
6) photograph: a stack of old photographs I got in an ebay ephemera lot
7) label: metal rimmed tags
 Cool whimsical: hand made fairy stickers cut from an old calendar
9) found: paint sample cards
10) local: Texas map
11) sharp: punch out paper flowers (they have sharp corners!)
12) vintage: old knitting project booklet
13) transportation: vintage flash cards of cars and vintage railroad punch tickets/cards
14) altered: cool old fairy pop up illustrations calendar made into dividers for a binder
15) senders choice: vintage heavy duty bingo card with sliding windows

Here is the very fun and thoughtful package from TAOJ:

chunky = wood puzzle
over 20 = cupcake felt pieces
typography = scrapworks kit
botanical = flower patch
postal = Anne of Green Gables stamps
photograph = frame
label = tag from jeans
whimsical = Betty Boop tag
found = fortune from a cookie
local = Big Brothers/Big Sisters stickers
sharp = scissors
vintage = children's book
transportation = map of Cavendish
altered = clipboard
choice = journal

In an email exchange, I mentioned that I was a fan of Anne of Green Gables books, so TAOJ made a special effort to find things that she knew I would like.  Thank you so much Susanne!

7  Altoids Tins + Vintage Illustrations in Completed Projects by Meow Kapow on: October 16, 2008 04:19:04 PM
I'm swiftly transforming my (years of collecting) Altoids tins into these little decoupage boxes.  It is so fun to look though old story books for that perfect or weird little image.  I use the original illustration since inkjet ink is not too fun with decoupage, so each one is unique.  I'm thinking holiday gifts here BUT how can this be modified to make it have boy-appeal?

8  Cupcake Zip Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Meow Kapow on: October 15, 2008 01:53:12 PM
I've been making these for a while and I am in love with them.  Is it unattractive to be in love with something you made?  But what's not to love? It's CAKE.

9  Re: What to do with Paint Chip Samples? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by Meow Kapow on: October 15, 2008 01:19:07 PM
I've been having a TON of fun with paint chip sample cards.  The photos speak for themselves, so here they are:

Also, the Badass Book of Crafts by Mark Montano has some other cool ideas in it for using paint cards.

10  Vinyl Mini Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Meow Kapow on: August 06, 2008 07:16:39 PM
This is a great way to carry around your favorite scrapbook paper - all preserved in a vinyl sandwich.  I made some boo-boos.  Vinyl is tricky, especially when there's several layers.  But fun!
