1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Updated Shop on: September 14, 2011 04:47:57 PM
I spent most of today working on my Etsy Shop.  Basically, putting up better pictures, I was not happy with most of the old ones so hubby setup a light box for me and we took some new pictures.  They still are not perfect but they are better than they were.

We also added a lot of new items from the Murano Glass Beads we brought back with us from Venice this Spring.

Will you please look and let me know what you think and where I can improve.  I know there are still a couple of items that need better pictures.

You can find my shop at etsy.com/shop/pjcraftsworld

I hope I'm not breaking any rules doing this but I really need to start making sales.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Etsy Circles? (this might be a silly question..) on: August 15, 2011 05:36:04 AM
I have some of the same questions.  Not sure what the advantage of circles, teams, and treasuary is.  Can someone explain all this in simple language - not the geek-ism that I feel some of the explanations on ETSY tends to be.  Thanks.

I'm so new to ETSY and not totally computer literate.  Can someone put it in a nutshell how the Facebook thing works?

Thanks.

4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / First Sale on: August 09, 2011 05:49:40 AM
I am so excited I just made my first sale in my ETSY Shop.  I opened my shop in early July and was trying to be very patient.  It was a blue/green shawl now I need to get busy and make another one in a different color.  I think my knitting needles are going to be smoking.

Fellow Crafters -

I have recently opened an ETSY shop and am a member of the Craftster Team.  I am getting views but no sales.  Would you please look at my shop and let me know what to do to improve and possibly get sales.

I do know I need to get more items in my shop - currently I have 18.  And it is a variety of things, i.e. hand knitted, herbal soaps and magnetic jewelry.  I am working on getting more items posted.  So other than more items what can I do in order to get my shop out and possible a sale.

I sent announcements to all our friends and have posted an annoucement on Facebook.  But generally speaking this is to people we know.  How do I get others to noticie my shop.

I've done a lot of reading both here and on Etsy and still can't figure out what I am doing that should be done differently.

My shop name is pjcraftsworld.

Thank you for any help, suggestions or recommendations.

6  Florida / Florida: Central / Re: Craft shows central Florida on: July 18, 2011 06:18:24 AM
I live in Lakeland and have been doing craft shows for about 4 years now.  It's really hard to find craft shows where the vendor fee is so outlandish there is no way to make any money.  Many of the craft shows are now signing up with festival.net or some other type service which charges over $100 per show.  I simply cannot afford that kind of booth or vendor fee as what I sell is a low cost product basically herbal soap at $4.00 per bar.  I supplement the soap with some jewelry (but everybody sells jewelry these days) and some knitting.

I would just like to be able to find craft fairs where the vendor fee is more reasonable.

8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / New ETSY Store on: July 12, 2011 08:24:50 PM
I just opened a new ETSY Store and was wondering if anyone has any advice on making it a success.  I don't have Facebook or Twitter and I've never had a blog.  It seems like everything I read says I need these three things so I am coming to you for advice.

Thank you.

9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Selling Hand Knitted Items on: January 26, 2011 06:03:49 AM
This has probably been asked before but I am going to ask again.

Do hand knitted items (baby items specifically) sell at Craft Fair in Florida.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Looking for Charms on: December 01, 2009 12:54:22 PM
I am looking for inexpensive charms for a childs charm bracelet.  I can't seem to find anything.  Any ideas where I might find small charms preferably in sets for something like this.  Thanks.  flhusker
