121  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Coffin stencil, anyone? on: October 13, 2004 07:49:07 PM
I have a coffin themed deco that I need to do, and I'm stoked about discovering how to make stencils with photos and photoshop, so I ran a Google search for a good coffin piccie. Check out the resulting stencil image (I have yet to do the deco, I won't have access to a printer til this weekend)

Go to http://www.waymouth.org/betsi/Coffin-stencil.jpg to get the image bigger; the bulletin board system seems to be making the image smaller.
122  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ouch!! I stepped on another pin!! on: October 13, 2004 05:50:22 PM
Wow, what a great idea!

By the way, for those wanting to try this but not owning a swiffer, try checking out the website www.freecycle.org to see if you can find some one who doesn't want theirs. Freecycle is a site where people can give away things they don't need or want anymore, or ask for things that others might have to give away.
It's a really cool website in general, and you could probably get lots of neat crafty goodness there. For instance, on my local listing I recently saw a sewing machine get given away.
123  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Choosing a pic to stencilify? on: October 13, 2004 03:21:05 PM
So I'm new to creating stencils, I just stumbled on the idea of using image editors to take any photo or image and make it into a stencil that you gals seem to be doing a lot. It looks like a lot of fun and I'm getting the hang of the picture editing I think (no access to a printer right now so I can't go further for now). But I was wondering, does anyone have advice on choosing a good picture to make into a stencil? That is, if you're doing a certain celebrity and flipping through your results when you run a search on Google Images, what should you look for?
